  • Great relaxing vacation in Maine

"This was our first trip to Maine and we loved it! The A-frame cabin has everything you need for a great stay. Clean, comfortable bed, and great views. Sunrises are spectacular. Kitchen is well equipped and everything is there to prepare whole Maine lobster or any other meal of your choice. This is for guests who appreciate the great outdoors and want to get away from the city. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are less than an hour away. Local lobster fisherman work their traps in front of the cabin, and you can purchase live lobsters from local fishermen for $5.25-$9.00 a pound. Twelve foot tides change the scenery everyday. We plan to return again next year. Scott is helpful and knowledgeable of the area. He can share more ideas of what to see and do than what you can accomplish in one week."

  • Wonderful Charm

"This wonderful charming cottage was our home base for discovering Maine and its harbor towns. The property exceeded our expectations in every way and the property owners were incredibly hospitable. Our experience was phenomenal and the property pictures aren't capable of capturing the extreme beauty the cottage provided us. Since we've left we can't stop telling all our family and friends that there is no better vacation value than Maine and the Sea Smoke Cottage. Peaceful, relaxing,"

  • otherworldly beautiful

"It's really rare to stay in a place with such complete privacy and beauty outside and have the inside of the house so comfortable and well equipped. Even on the foggy/rainy day the view with all the windows is just wonderful. We took a trip to the Schoodic peninsula (much less touristy than the Bar Harbor area of Acadia) and hiked the trails, bought lobster at the Winter Harbor co-op on the way back. Another day trip was to the Great Wass Nature preserve where we walked the "Mudhole" trail. We easily could have stayed another week, and plan on it- hopefully next year. Jessica was just a pleasure to work with and the place was really way beyond our expectations."

  • Fantastic Maine vacation

"Exactly as advertised. The cabin was so reasonable we were able to book it for 2 weeks even though we could only stay 9 days. 9 days wasn't enough, we hated to leave. We only left the cabin to grocery shop and one day went to Cutler nature preserve on Rt. 191 along the bold coast. The ocean was very foggy and we could see much but I would still recommend the hike. We ate at Helen's in Machias on the way back and it was wonderful. I had the clams and it is the 1st time since I left Massachusetts 40 years ago that I have had clams the way nature intended, with whole clam and not just strips. The weather was glorious only rained twice, once at night! Cool nights perfect for sleeping. Hardly saw any people and then only if we left our end of the lake. Loons were the perfect entertainment and the lake is perfect. Thank you Anne and Nathan for sharing your wonderful cabin."
