  • Authentic Maine Cottage Peaceful and Tranquil

"This little cottage on Toddy Pond was just what we were looking for. It's close to many sights and activities in the area: Acadia, The Pennobscot Bridge Observatory and Fort Knox, and multitude of scenic views that would pop up when you least expected while travelling the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our floaties in Toddy Pond on a lazy afternoon and listening to the Loons in the evening. We dined at Harbor View in Bucksport, Testas in Bar Harbor, and celebrated my 55th birthday at The Jordon Pond House. Horace and Carol were very gracious hosts giving suggestions on local sights and sharing the history behind their gorgeous property. We wish our 4 night stay could have been longer. We highly recommend this little cottage for anyone wanting a quiet, secluded getaway."

  • Peaceful, Homey Vacation Home

"I recently stayed at Gardencourt with 3 friends from West Virginia. It was easy to find once we got into the area. Gardencourt was clean and welcoming. The home was lovely and the area was safe and peaceful. It was comfortable and had everything you could possible need. It's always great to have a washer/dryer when on vacation! The owners were friendly and the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do."

  • Great Bar Harbor Stay!

"Our girls getaway was great at the Acadia Getaway House! Nice house layout, private patio and yard, super Weber grill for easy dinners after a day biking, shopping and sightseeing at Acadia National Park. The House is at the perfect location for carriage trails, entrance to Cadillac Mountain and downtown Bar Harbor - nice Catholic Church for Sunday Mass was an added bonus. Owners are easy to work with and very responsive - I would recommend this property for anyone wishing to experience the beauty of Bar Harbor and surrounding areas! It was a perfect week living in a comfortable home surrounded by nature, fresh air, nice people and as much exercise, restaurants and scenic beauty that you could handle!"

  • Awesome spot

"The house is nicer than in the pictures, for sure. It's very spacious and comfortable, and has most everything you need. We were a group of five adults, and never felt crowded. I agree with the other reviewer, it's a good balance of rustic character and modern conveniences. The screened in porch is an excellent place to read a book or do a jigsaw puzzle. The lake is beautiful and extremely quiet (it seemed like the other sections of the lake were more populated). We loved hanging out on the dock and swimming out to the swim float. There are a few things that would make it more perfect - a new set of knives and silverware, and a ladder at the end of the dock (there are a lot of rocks, so a bit tricky to get in the water). Yes, it's a bit of a drive down the road to the house, but it's not at all bumpy, so they have done a good job at grading it – no problem at all. It's quite convenient to Blue Hill and other locations - we zipped to the Blue Hill food coop a few times, had lobster rolls at Bagaduce Lunch, and went to the amazing pizza night at Tinder Hearth Bakery. We have rented many lake houses in the area, and this ranks among the best."
