  • Wonderful anniversary trip!

"Heartfelt thanks to Danielle and Claude for their hospitality! We had a wonderful stay at Fish Point and if I lived there, I'd spend nearly all my time down at the point -- absolutely gorgeous!!! Even though the water was frigid, off came my tennis shoes so I could put my feet into the water down on the beautiful little beach. Be sure to try to catch a glimpse of the little "church" with the stained glass window hidden in the woods down at the point. During our visit, we were blessed to be invited to attend a concert performed by Danielle and had a lovely song dedicated for our anniversary stay -- priceless. The list of have-to-see points of interest and restaurants provided by Danielle were invaluable -- we visited The Wrinkled Pickle twice. Her communication before and during our stay was great -- I felt like we were friends even before we met in person. Schoodic Point in Acadia (the locals' choice for visiting the park) will go down in history as one of my most favorite places to visit. I got so close down on the rocks that the water hit me from my feet to my knees!!! If you visit, you'll understand how awesome that is! :) And the stars up in the sky -- amazing. How many times I wish I could have captured that beauty with my camera. Such a wonderful stay. My husband and I have already talked about hoping to visit again some day and treat our kids to the hospitality and beauty found at Fish Point. Thanks again, Danielle and Claude, for the sweet gift of the wine upon our arrival and for sharing your home with us for one of our best anniversary trips yet."

  • This is a lovely house and beautiful spot with great swimming and water access.

"We had such a wonderful time here. The house is comfortable and charming, the view off the porch is fantastic, the firepit right on the river was fun. But best of all was the swimming in the salt pond! You will be hard pressed to find such warm, pleasant saltwater swimming this far North in Maine. Great for kids and adults alike. We also did quite a bit of canoeing on the water and walking/running onto Crowley Island. This place is a find!"

  • Clean, comfortable and just what we needed!

"We planned a last minute trip to Maine and wanted to try something different. We normally stay in Southern Maine, but wanted to venture further north this time. We found Who New Cottage through Home Away, and I'm so glad we did! I am very picky about lodging, but I will say - this cottage is immaculate and has been completely remodeled with modern comforts and conveniences. From the moment I stepped inside I loved it, and I was very impressed! With permission, my husband and I brought our small dog and we all felt right at home. There is a loft bedroom that is accessible by a spiral staircase (so pretty!). That would be perfect for kids! We didn't need the additional space, but the downstairs was open and very roomy for us. I am a poor sleeper, but the bed was so comfortable and I slept all night long, every night! I was amazed. Every morning, we sat on the porch in the rocking chairs and had our coffee. It was perfect. The rest of the home's furniture was comfortable, and believe it or not, I actually went out and bought the exact same chairs for my living room after returning home! Wanda (the property manager) was extremely responsive to any questions we had about the local area or things to do. You should know, this property is not located close to town or conveniences (it's roughly a 15 minute ride to the grocery store), but I would still highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a beautiful view and a nice play to stay and relax. The only downside was the spotty WiFi, but the property owner was working on getting that fixed, so I'm sure it will be resolved. And honestly, it wasn't a terrible thing for us to be "unplugged" a little bit. We still had television and were able to make calls home to family from the landline. We've been coming to Maine for vacation for over 35 years and I will admit, this vacation by far was one of the best vacation we've had in Maine in a long time. I didn't want to leave and I actually cried a little bit on our last day as we were pulling away. I loved this cottage and I can't wait to go back. Please give Who New a try!"

  • The DeMarco Family Maine Getaway

"Stayed for a week recently with extended family. The house was exactly as described in a beautiful waterfront location with all the amenities we needed to cook meals large and small. Everything was neat and clean and there was plenty of room for all with two separate living quarters. David and Noelle were extremely helpful in providing a lot of information about the area. We had great fun exploring Acadia, Schoodic Point, Petit Manan Refuge and Bar Harbor. Don't miss The Milbridge House for breakfast and lunch. We bought lobster and crab at Chipmans Wharf and it was great! We highly recommend "Decked Out" , especially for large families like ours. Perfect!! Peggy & Don DeMarco, Kingston, PA"
