"What a wonderful way to spend a week. The home is everything that you need to enjoy the sights and sounds of living on the water in Maine. It has been completely remodeled and there is a water view from every room. Every room has its own thermostat to let everyone sleep in comfort, and the bathroom floors are heated. I can not say enough about Phil (our host) he checked on us 2 or 3 times to make sure we had everything we needed and to give us recomendations on were the best local places to eat. If you want to experiance Maine this is the place to do it. Love it and will go back SOON Skip Merritt"

  • You cannot beat this spot! Four adults, four kids, two dogs and we all had the time of our lives.

"We had so much fun in the yard and on the water. Kayaking at high tide to the nearby islands or up the Englishman River, and exploring the rocks and flats at low tide. The huge lawn was perfect for frisbee and football or playing fetch with the pups. And what a view beyond! Comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen (we made great use of that wine fridge) made for cozy nights on the coast. Privacy! We spent days on the beach and would see next to no one. This privacy was respected by Captain Mike, while he was still available whenever we needed him. And he is full of great local suggestions! A big hit of his was steering us towards Mother Shuckers for truly the freshest lobster we have ever had. They were in the waters just outside our door mere hours before they were on our dinner plates. A great grill on the deck made it easy for us to spend as much time outside as we could. Think grilled pizzas and star gazing. So many places to explore for day trips makes this a great home base. Roque Bluffs State park, 2 miles away, has great walking trails, a sandy beach and a freshwater lake. (And wild blueberries!!) We hit Bar Harbor and Acadia one day, about an hour and a half away, and both East and West Quoddy lighthouses. West Quoddy is less than an hour from the house. All in all, none of us would hesitate to return. Thank you for a great family vacation."

  • Beyond words

"We hesitate to enumerate the many attributes of Seacliff because we will nudge ourselves out of a slot for coming seasons. Life at Seacliff is absolute perfection to the extent it's possible here on earth. To quote the 79-years-old clam digger, "If God had made a prettier place he would have kept it for himself." That about sums it up: Simple, breathtakingly gorgeous, relaxing, life as it was meant to be lived."

  • Wonderful Charm

"This wonderful charming cottage was our home base for discovering Maine and its harbor towns. The property exceeded our expectations in every way and the property owners were incredibly hospitable. Our experience was phenomenal and the property pictures aren't capable of capturing the extreme beauty the cottage provided us. Since we've left we can't stop telling all our family and friends that there is no better vacation value than Maine and the Sea Smoke Cottage. Peaceful, relaxing,"
