  • A wonderful place to kick back, unwind, and enjoy nature in a lovely setting and comfortable cottage

"Biscay Sunsets is the perfect place to recharge one's batteries! We took a few side trips to Pemaquid Point, New Harbor and Christmas Cove, but each time we breathed a sign of relief upon returning to the cottage where we would take a swim and/or settle into the adirondack chairs to enjoy the soft breezes. Swimming, walking, boating, horseshoes, reading, and swinging in the hammock... Can't wait to return!"

  • Hidden Gem in Maine

"I'm hesitant to review this lovely cottage on Seal Cove not because the stay was average, but because I'm selfish and don't want others to discover this hidden gem!!! My young family has vacationed in the Pemaquid area for the last 7 years, but staying cove side is quite the experience. This was are second year and you'll hear no complaints! Our 6 and 3 year olds love walking right down to the water to explore and help launch kayaks and paddle around the cove looking for wildlife and "treasures." It is extremely peaceful (with the exception of our children squealing/screaming in excitement). This year start we saw hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, a variety of birds and seals. We spotted seals everyday. One day we saw 22 seals basking on the rocks at one time! They even joined us kayaking. Groceries, shops, and lobster coops are a short drive away. The kitchen has everything you need to make your meals and having linens provided is a bonus. Gordon and Sheila have thought of everything you may need to make you stay fun and relaxing. We can't wait to come back next year!!"

  • Terrific cozy cottage perfect for our family of 4

"We chose this cottage based on its location to several of the attractions and towns we wanted to visit. We are from Virginia so we wanted to have a home base in Maine while we could explore but we also needed a place that supplied linens, towels, and a furnished kitchen. We wanted to be off of the beaten path not in a camp ground. This cottage offered privacy and plenty to do. Our children are (9 & 10) and enjoyed the use of the kayaks around the pond as did we. There were a great selection and amount of supplied life vests. They were able to explore in the water and the land (small beach and woods). The screened in porch was one of our favorite places - eating, reading, and game playing. Even when it rained, we sat outside not getting wet. We had brought a few of our favorite games from home but we found there were tons of games to choose from already at the cottage. The kitchen was small but totally usable. We would eat a later lunch out exploring then come home and eat a light dinner on the porch. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The local grocery store was about 15 minutes away (if that) and there were several farm stands close by. I would and have already recommended this cottage to friends and family. I hope to be able to go back again!"

  • Great House and Property in a wonderful setting!

"Our second vacation in your lovely Maine home was even better than the one last year -- except that we should have stayed longer! There are so many things to do nearby that it was hard to fit them all into two weeks. We also enjoy just relaxing on the large deck, gazing out at the water and the birds or watching the full moon rise over the river. Having the Botanical Gardens within a mile is great - we enjoy the gardens as well as the kayak trips that are run from their location. Porters Preserve, Gregory Preserve and Oven Mouth are our favorite hiking areas nearby. My husband loves bicycling down River Road and over to Southport and we both like to drive down to enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking Townsend Gut at Robinson's Wharf. We entertained friends at your house this summer - both for a barbeque and a lobster dinner. Purchased the lobsters at nearby Trevett Store. Your kitchen is so well equipped, entertaining was a pleasure. We also enjoy the huge and interesting selection of books that fill your house. We are looking forward to another, longer, stay next summer."
