  • Perfect family vacation, walked into town everyday

"An adorable cottage with an amazing location!! Stayed here with our 3 year old daughter and 2 month old son. Walked the beach across the street during low tide, spent time everyday at the park across the street and walked into town everyday for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just an ice cream. Karen and her husband are extremely friendly. Started the vacation off with Karen handing me a glass of prosecco when meeting up with her to get the keys at their art gallery in town. We came the week of the 4th, we walked to the church lawn about a 1/4 mile from the house to watch the fireworks across the harbor. In the future I'd like to stay during windjammer week which was the week before. Looks like they have a lot of activities that would have been fun. Could not say enough good things about this cottage and the location!"

  • Near it all!

"Rachel's home was a great fit and size for our family. It was close to town and when I say close, I mean within walking distance. It was PERFECT! Her home has everything you need to enjoy your time in Boothbay!"

  • Perfect location for mid-coast Maine vacation

"Perfect location. Water views, with access to a dock and a small beach. Short drive to town, and a little over an hour drive to Portland or Camden for day trips. The house has all the amenities we needed, including WiFi, is well maintained and clean, and plenty of room for large families. Many families in this compound of homes, so a good spot for a family vacation. My wife and I like to bike, so we did some local riding. The Southport loop is scenic with minimal traffic, and the loop up to Barter's Island is nice too. There are many kayak rental companies in the area, and some will drop off the kayaks to you. The house is in a perfect location for kayaks."

  • Great week at Portside!

"This was my family's first trip to Maine and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Portside was a home away from home. The bedrooms were perfect for our family of six (4 adults, 2 kids) - just enough space so that we were together without being crowded. The kitchen was perfectly appointed with everything we needed to prepare meals and eat together at the dining room table - which also doubled as our poker table! When we were not inside, we were outside on the private deck, lazing on the float, or exploring the shops, restaurants and scenery of Boothbay. Having the kayak rental right next door was a huge plus for us too. We used the YMCA membership every day it was open as well - a great amenity for both the adults and the kids! Abby's effort into making Portside fit every possible need is evident from the collections of books, DVDs and boardgames, the basket of local menus/information, and all the extra touches like binoculars, picnic baskets, and blankets. Well done, Abby! We are looking forward to our next visit!"
