  • A great stay in Maine

"We had a girlfriends reunion at this beautiful Maine home and I can't say enough about the comfort and location of this charming waterfront cottage. We had plenty of space to spread out, a great kitchen equipped with everything that you could possibly need, a wonderfully wide wrapped porch where we spent hours enjoying our morning coffee, having evening cocktails, watching the boats go by, and catching up with old friends. The Owl's Nest has been very well thought out and provides every comfort for you to enjoy coastal Maine at it's best. The home is "tucked in" to enjoy all the privacy that you would need but close enough for walking to the charming general store where the breakfast pizza is so delicious. We enjoyed fishing, shopping and dining in the quaint downtown area, relaxing walks throughout Boothbay, cooking in the great kitchen, and warm cozy fires during the cool evenings of May. And, our weather was awesome so it made for a perfect week for making great memories. We all loved it and want to come back with our families. Next time though, we will be enjoying the boathouse... having ping pong tournaments and dancing under the disco ball.... just love that touch! Thank you, Bob, for the gracious comfort of your home for your guests."

  • Excellent ME hospitality

"Very comfortable apartment that is just as described. It is also very well equipped with everything from pots and pans to parchment paper to make the stay easy and enjoyable. Then, the added bonus of Eleanor and Pete! When we arrived in their driveway our car died. Pete diagnosed the problem (dead alternator) and charged the battery. Meanwhile, Eleanor drove us to the grocery store so we could buy food. The next day we drove the car to his trusted mechanic. While it was being fixed, he and Eleanor took us on the famous boat tour (mentioned by other reviewers). We picnicked on an outlying island and got to see a lot of the area from the water. Talk about above an beyond hospitality!"

  • Cozy and Comfortable

"You will feel like this cottage has been in your family for generations. We fell in love with the view and most days just lingered on the enclosed porch or outside on the roomy deck, watching lobster boats, sail boats and crafts of various configurations make their way through the blue, ever changing tides. Look for the heron guarding his hunting ground on the shore below or watch the otters diving for fish. Peaceful and relaxing yet you are just minutes away from restaurants, groceries and downtown Boothbay Harbor. Comfy beds. Relax and enjoy. We were a party of four adults and would recommend."

  • One in a Million!!

"Our family stayed here in July of 2016. This cottage must have one of the finest views I have seen on the coast of Maine. Period. We had a list of tons of things to do and see in the area but I must confess that with the splendid weather we had we never ventured far from this amazing spot. Highlights were Harbor Cruise in Boothbay..kayaking out to White Island to see the seal pups..and great meals at the Thistle Inn not to mention local lobsters from the docks that we cooked at the cottage! I hesitate to even review this cottage as it is already so hard to get a week but the owners have really created a p effect vacation spot here!"
