  • We loved Mr. Skip and Mrs. Judy's place

"Our family of six stayed here. Three of the older children shared the bunk beds and we also had an infant use a pack and play that was provided. The place is very child friendly. You need not travel with toys as there are bins with toys for the kids. The apartment was very clean. The apartment truly has everything you need. They also provided beach items like toys and chairs. Mrs. Judy baked twice for our family. We really fell in love with Mrs. Judy and Mr. Skip as much as we did with their apartment. They were truly accommodating, friendly and just lovely people. We felt like they struck just the right balance with accommodating their guests and giving privacy to their guests. Lobster night in the apartment with Judy's help was memorable and a day on Megunticook lake with Skip who let all the children drive the boat was another. We loved that we could easily get to Camden, Belfast, Owls Head and Rockport. We will be back next year."

  • Charming, clean, and close to everything...

"We were exceptionally happy with our stay at Wicker Cottage. Charming decor and you can tell that everything was carefully chosen with love...lots of interesting things to look at. Books, guidebooks, maps, movies...lots at hand for use for day trip planning or staying in on a rainy day. Beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. When we first arrived, it was cold and we couldn't get the heat to come on...due to furnace maintenance man had left switch off... left messages and both local person and owner soon called back and issue resolved quickly. The stairs are steep to second floor bedrooms, but worth the charm of restored 100 year old farmhouse. A soak in the claw foot tub, once upstairs, makes up for this. Location to downtown is a very short walk to Camden shops and restaurants. Camden is a year round community... we were there just post season and all of Camdens shops and restaurants were still open, not so with several other nearby villages. Camden is also perfect mid-coast location for exploring north or south...strongly recommend. Owner, Michele, very helpful..."

  • One of our best vacations ever!

"We (three couples from the Dallas area) loved our stay in this beautifully restored home in Camden. We have vacationed together every summer for several years and we all agreed that the home, it's location, and the beauty of the area made it one of our best trips ever. The home is just as described by Mary in her listing. It has a good layout for privacy when desired, but also has a nice den, dining room, kitchen, and outside sitting area where we all gathered for most of the time during our stay. We cooked a few meals (including steaming lobsters one evening) in the well equipped kitchen, but many times, we walked a short distance to the downtown harbor area where we enjoyed several excellent meals in the abundant restaurants there. There is plenty to do and see in the area (Acadia National Park, Mount Battie, museums, etc) and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We hope to make it back to this beautiful home in a few years."

  • What a great cottage!

"We had a wonderful two weeks at this delightful cottage. First of all, it is darling inside...fully equipped, beautifully decorated and so much nicer than most pet-friendly rentals. Gas fireplace provides heat; air conditioning removes it, and with climate change, we used both. However, most days were comfortable and breezy...just the way everyone loves Maine. The views of the lake from the deck are beautiful and so relaxing; I already miss my morning coffee there. The lake itself is large enough to provide a lot of interest kayaking, but small enough to heat up for comfortable swimming. And the location itself could not be better. Seclusion on the lake and all the shops and restaurants of busy Camden just 15 minutes away. The owners, who couldn't be nicer, are just ten minutes away and come by to take out the trash and refill the bird feeders. I had never been buzzed by hummingbirds before, but believe me, it's a pleasure you must experience. All in all, you can't go wrong with this cottage. It's a real winner."
