  • Wonderful place/excellent hosts!

"Eleanor's and Pete's apartment could not have been better for us and their complimentary boat trip was also perfect for us. We arrived on a mission to find a summer place in the Boothbay area. We found a great place with the help of our wonderful (and very supportive) hosts, Eleanor and Pete. The morning after our afternoon arrival, Pete took us out on his very cool lobster-style boat and, over the course of many (patient) hours, cruised by all of the houses we were going to see over the upcoming next few days. It was very helpful to have seen these places from the water prior to seeing them from the land. It was also very helpful to have someone familiar with the waters in the area, show us around. The stop in downtown Boothbay for an ice cream cone "lunch," of course, did not lessen our enthusiasm for the area. Oh...back to the apartment - there's nothing missing. We had been traveling for a few weeks and were sick of eating out, so we cooked most of our meals, for the 9 nights we were there, in the apartment (did I mention I like to cook and didn't need a thing to put a few semi-elaborate meals together?). All-in-all, we had a great time, loved the place and would go back in a heart beat. If you go, make sure you ask Eleanor to show you her amazing surprise upstairs!"

  • A Beauty!

"We spent two weeks in this lovely house on the water, watching the lobster boats and the local wildlife...we even saw an otter on the rocks below.....and enjoyed every bit of it. The house is immaculate and has everything you would need to prepare meals, cook up the lobsters, and relax in front of the fireplace. We did tear ourselves away to look at some of the sites in this region but the majority of our time was spent in the house and on the deck. Drive down Rt 96 and look at the spectacular views down at Ocean Point....not to be missed! The local brewery, The Watershed restaurant, was a wonderful experience....great food...and six craft beer flights to boot! If you are wondering where to get a fish tile like the one in the mantle, you can find that and other gorgeous tiles at the Tile Connection, about 15 mins away. We bought quite a few art tiles there. The whole area is lovely to look at ...we took drives around both peninsulas while we were there and enjoyed the distinct beauty of this part of Maine. Loved it! The leaves were already turning brilliant colors so we were treated to that on our way out last week. All in all, a perfect vacation ! Look no further, you've found the place for next year! (if you can beat the competition for reservations)"

  • Excellent Vacation for Family Reunion

"Our family of 9 stayed at Sea Glass Cottage in August 2016. The house is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped since we cooked most of our meals. The location was excellent - close to grocery and activities plus the trolley across the street was wonderful to take downtown for shopping. We loved walking down the street to Boothbay Lobster Wharf to watch the lobster fishermen come in mid-afternoon. Plus the restaurant had the best lobster rolls. Activities enjoyed were Kayak trip for adults and kids, schooner trip, golf at Boothbay Harbor Country Club, and the Puffin Cruise. The Audoban Society Naturalist was fascinating lecturing about birds in the area. I would recommend a vacation at Sea Glass Cottage for all ages. The ages in our group were 82 - 9 and there was something for everyone to enjoy."
