  • Just like family!

"This little apartment is adorable and comfortable, but what makes it truly special are the hosts. Skip and Judy will treat you like family. They know the area very well, point out little-known points of interest, recommend restaurants, and all the usual host-like duties. But here's the amazing bit: Judy will bake for you. Skip will take you out on his boat. They might even offer to let you use their laundry facilities! I happened to visit the week of my birthday and got homemade brownies, TWICE plus a birthday cake!! There were also fresh, warm blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, balloons, and singing! I cannot recommend this place enough, and my mother even asked at one point, "How do y'all get anyone to leave?!" It is an honest sentiment, I did not want to leave when our week was over and am already planning for our next trip. Plan to pack light, because Judy stocks the apartment with everything you'll need, even down to extra toothbrushes if you forget one. There were razors, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, kids bath stuff, even a hair dryer. Plus, the fridge and kitchen had all the essentials, condiments, paper goods, even an ironing board and iron, even though I can't imagine anyone wanting to do that on vacation. There were sodas, water, eggs, coffee, way more than I expected. And I haven't even mentioned the actual location. So easy and centrally located, almost exactly halfway between Camden and Belfast, with a gorgeous stream running right behind the apartment, and an amazing deck to enjoy morning coffee. It was easy to get anywhere we needed to go, and there is a literal book full of great information compiled by our hosts and their former guests. Judy even gave us grocery store sale ads to help with grocery shopping. I can't say enough good things about this place and its owners. There were five of us, three adults and two rowdy kids, and we never felt crowded. There were toys for the kids, books, movies, reliable internet, cable TV, you name it. I cried the day we had to leave, and cannot wait to go back."

  • Perfection

"We had a fabulous time during our stay here. Everything was perfect. Clean as a whistle. The Washington General Store is down the road and the owners are wonderful."

  • A perfect house for a week of relaxation with the whole family.

"We arrived for the week with five adults and our dogs. The house is set along a beautiful water view with a private access road. We did not have to worry about a busy road nearby with the dogs and the sunsets over the water were stunning. The front lawn was a great place to spend the late afternoon playing cornhole and enjoying the day. We spent our mornings and evenings on the deck looking out at the view. The screened in porch and picnic table was perfect for every meal we ate at the house. The outdoor space was perfect for the dogs as well. Our kids used the tennis courts down the road, and we all walked the dirt road daily with the dogs. The layout of the house was perfect for us. When we arrived, it was perfectly clean and so well designed. Everything had a place and we immediately felt right at home. There was a master bed and bath on the first floor so that we could stay there and the "kids" stayed upstairs. They enjoyed using the common space on the second floor for board games and card games after dinner. The bedrooms upstairs were spacious and perfect for people to have a little private space when anyone needed it. Downstairs, the kitchen/living room open space was great for us because we did a lot of cooking, especially in the evenings, and there was room for everyone. We used the outdoor cooking pot one night for lobsters and they were excellent. We did not use the little study room off the kitchen much because we were either cooking or outside. We totally lucked out with the weather and found ourselves wanting to be outside every moment possible. We have a truly wonderful week. We have not been able to do a family vacation to Maine in years because of competing schedules. This week lined up by chance and we found Jutta's Place. Because of the wonderful time we had this summer, our kids have already worked to line up a common week off next summer so that we can return. This house was a great place for all of us to unplug, relax, laugh, eat, and enjoy summer in Maine."

  • Wonderful Accomodations!

"We were in Belfast, ME the first week of October and cannot say enough good things about our stay. Belfast is a beautiful, friendly community, but the highlight was our stay in the Phoenix Row apartment. It is a wonderful gem, hidden in the middle of the downtown area. The owner, Archie made sure our stay was comfortable in every way. The apartment was clean, cozy, and quiet. It is in walking distance of everything you could need. It had all the amenities you could want and Archie was just a text/call away to quickly answer questions. Belfast is a great town to use as base camp for touring the area and having such a beautiful apartment to come home to made our trip perfect! We would definitely recommend this apartment but know that there are some stairs involved. We can't wait to return!"
