  • Stylish property in Great Location

"The location is perfect for walking to Camden restaurants, shops and a delightful neighborhood park on the harbor. The property itself is also well designed --inside and out. We loved the details that made this place so attractive. The furniture, the light fixtures, the kitchen appliances are all contemporary, new looking and highly functional. The living room is bright and airy which is very conducive for hanging out after a day of sightseeing. I found the counter with barstools to be a comfortable place to set up my computer to do my photography processing after a day of shooting the beautiful Camden scenery. We also used the kitchen extensively. It is well equipped so we were able to pick up goodies at the farmer's market and the local shops to piece together our breakfasts, snacks and light dinners. The two drawer dishwasher also made it efficient to clean up after ourselves. I also loved the stackable washer and dryer in the bathroom. In addition to the functionality of this charming space, its key advantage is the quiet and private nature of the cottage. Although it is next door to the main house occupied by the owner, we had extraordinary privacy and peace. We did meet the owner, Josh and found him to be helpful and delightful. He clearly loves his town which makes him a gracious host. The pictures of the cottage are helpful but the feeling of the place is actually more spacious than it looks. I can't really put into words the combination of charm and function and location that make this an excellent choice for a visit to Camden so let me just say that we loved the cottage and would recommend it without reservation."

  • Wonderful vacation house

"I'm very late in submitting this review but I was reminded recently to do so because my kids still talk about going back again next summer. Ken was very responsive to my questions before we arrived and while we were there. The house is quite spacious-there were 4 adults and three kids there for most of the week. The deck is huge and was great to eat on or just hang out on with lovely views high above the pond. The pond itself was very clean, quiet and warm and we took full advantage of the kayak and canoe that were there and went out every day on them. My son also loved fishing off the dock. As other people mentioned it is a steep walk down to the pond from the house so it may not be suitable for older people. The lovely town of Damariscotta was only 10 minutes away with great shopping and restaurants. We had great meals at King Eider's Pub twice. We also visited Boothbay Harbor that was very picturesque with good shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend the boat trip from the Harbor out to Monhegan Island which we all agreed was the highlight of the week. We went for a leisurely but long hike and after had some well deserved beers at the Monhegan brewery. Along the way we saw seals and some spectacular scenery. We also visited Pemaquid Beach twice which was beautiful and the water was actually not too cold to swim in ! And the lighthouse and park were also great to visit. I would say that if given the choice I would be willing to pay a little extra to leave the garbage at the house. We were able to put the trash bags in our kayak on the roof of our car and bring it to the trash collection area but if you only had a car this could prove a bit challenging if you waited until the end of the week. It is a good 25 minute drive to the trash drop off point and while you're on vacation it's not something you want to be doing every couple of days. That however was only a small issue and would not deter us from returning to house again."

  • Totally perfect place!

"We ended up with an unexpectedly large family reunion for a week, but I had booked this lodging when I thought we would be a small group. As a consequence, I saw many lodgings (including 3 just for me and a friend during the week). And this one was the best of the lot, if you value a bit of seclusion, flexibility in terms of how many people can be accommodated, a beautiful and scenic setting on the water, a handy location to Round Pond and beyond, and want to swim (or kayak -- we rented one to have at the edge of the property and my kids swam daily), bring a dog, and be welcomed in a very personal and appreciated way! It was very clean, light and bright, well-equipped and comfortable. An ideal rental."

  • Comfortable, accommodating, and so much more!

"Perfect place to settle for a week in Camden! Maine Squeeze was located very close to town and even a short walk to the biweekly Farmers Market. All other activities such as hiking Mt. Battie, swimming in Meguntacook Lake, winery visit, and museums in Rockland are a short drive away. The cottage itself was very comfortable, very well equipped, tv, wifi, washer/dryer, and a delightful yard full of flowers, places to sit, grill and eat outside on beautiful nights! Thank you, Sara, we had an amazing stay at your Maine Squeeze!"
