  • Great place for a small but active family !!!

"My wife and two kids (12 & 17) stayed here recently with me and our Corgi and we all had a blast. The house was homey and comfortable, and very relaxing. The 1 bathroom created a bit of a line at times, but we knew what we were getting into. The lawn was super for throwing a ball to our Corgi until he gassed. The dock provided a great place from which to launch our small inflatable boat, and much fun was had on the river with fishing and boating. The home was close to many destinations. We went to the Skowhegan State Fair which was about an hour away but well worth the travel time. Boothbay Harbor is only about 25 minutes away and there are great sites and restaurants there -- including Red's Eats in Wiscasset on the way. We also went to the Five Island Lobster Company and to Fort Popham on a different day. Witch Spring Hill Ice Cream is right down the road, as is a large grocery and a WalMart. The town of Bath itself boasts nice restaurants (Byrnes was awesome!), and has a Saturday farmer's market. I would recommend this house as a cozy, comfortable vacation house!"

  • Paradise in Maine

"Maine Saltwater Farmhouse was the perfect start to our vacation in New England for our group of eight. Everything was perfect right from the start, fresh bowl of fruit on the table to the fresh flowers in every room, lovely furnishings and comfortable beds and fresh linens . Everyone in our group said the farmhouse was their favorite place that we stayed on our 2 week vacation, they felt like they were at home. The farmhouse was very clean, well organized and well equipped in the kitchen. Thank you for letting us having a piece of your paradise."

  • Tranquility with a View that never gets old

"My wife and two older dogs spent a week here. While we have spent time on the south coast of Maine, this was our first trip to Mid-coast Maine. It was a wonderful introduction. The first impression after the hustle and bustle of the southern beaches is that this is sure isolated. You are about 20 minutes from Bath and all its restaurants and stores.. Perhaps because we live in the country ourselves, those reservations quickly melted and it soon felt like home. I love to cook, so I prepared all our breakfasts and dinners in the well appointed kitchen and ate them in the comfortable dining room. Large windows in the front and side of the house take full advantage of the spectacular views of the river and bay, all the way out to the ocean. A nice screened in porch complements the deck. As it was past bug season, we preferred sitting on the deck. In fact, my favorite day was one the only time we drove was to the dump, and the rest of the time we languidly sat on the deck or house and enjoyed the serenity of lobster and pleasure boats coming and going, the seagulls overhead, the diving ducks, and just watching the tide come and go framed by the blue sky and clouds. There are two masters with queen beds that each have great views of the water, and two other bedrooms if you need them. Missed no TV during playoff baseball season, but you can't have everything. We definitely enjoyed lots of time to read. The lobster pound up the road was only open weekends, but we did take advantage of that by sharing a big boy on our first and last nights. What really impressed me too was that in this seemingly remote spot, you can still get to many of the mid coast attractions in an hour or less, and Camden in less than an hour and a half. The internet is very fast and reliable too. All the amenities are here. No nickel and dining you on salt or water or anything else. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners the last day when they came up and stayed at their house next door. Betsy has been part of the Five Islands community all her life. We'll be back for sure."

  • Schooner's Landing

"Our group of three couples just completed a one week stay at Schooners Landing and it turned out to be one of the best vacations we have had. The home is magnificent, beautifully decorated and appointed; it was also spotlessly clean and had every amenity. It was a "home", not a house. The location was perfect and close to Rockland with it's many great restaurants. We overdosed on lobsters and every other imaginable shellfish. The kitchen was beautifully laid out so we ended up having dinner at home most evenings; and, they usually began with cocktails on the deck, looking out over the harbor and setting sun. It's a magical spot."
