  • The Best Week Ever

"We have spent a week in Maine for the last three years but our recent week at Seas the Day was "the best week ever" according to our two sons. The ocean views are gorgeous, the rocks attract sea birds and change with the tides, and sunlight, it's never quite the same view twice, incredibly refreshing. The house has all modern updates and was a very comfortable place for a family of four to spend the week. The kitchen is updated and fully useful, and it was great to grill out on the back deck with all that natural beauty in every direction. Every day we enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor fire pit and exploring along the rocks. The house is easy driving distance to Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor, walking distance to Pemaquid Beach and the most amazing cinnamon buns ever and we enjoyed a day on Monhegan Island, seeing puffins and dolphins along the way. We can't wait to go back next summer!"

  • Arden House--superb rental

"We have booked many vacation rentals through VRBO/HomeAway over the years and Arden House is in our top three! The property is well maintained with beautiful gardens, seating areas, and dock. I enjoyed kayaking every morning--kayaks, paddles, and life jackets provided. My husband loved grilling over the fire pits and walking the trails while I shopped in Boothbay Harbor. The carriage house is comfortable and is beautifully decorated. I admired the art, pottery, and furnishings that make this rental a home. Abigail expertly handles the booking process and Jim and Barbara are wonderful for local recommendations. Boothbay Harbor has a lot to offer--many quaint shops, good food, and fantastic views. A few of our favorites are Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Cabbage Island Clambake, Oliver's at Cosy Harbor for drinks in a relaxing setting, Dunton's Dog House and Katie's Hideaway for fresh seafood at roadside stands, and Abacus for unique gifts. Arden House is definitely a five-star!!"

  • Cozy and romantic getaway in Boothbay

"This was our first time visiting Booth Bay Harbor and we loved it! Hubby and I only get away alone once a year and this home was just perfect! You can sit on the balcony and watch the beautiful harbor sun glow. Loved the cozy living room where we could read, watch tv, or just sit and talk. The owner answered all questions we may have had when we checked in. Getting into town was too easy. You could walk or take a 2 minute drive! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with an amazing view of this harbor. We look forward to returning."

  • A blissful retreat with everything we need!

"The farmhouse, everything in it, the surroundings, were all as described and just fabulous. There are so many high points. Where to begin? To have so much space -- what a luxury. The barn swing in a thunderstorm! The Vulcan stove (how can we ever cook on anything else again?) The eclectic decor -- a touch of Italy and Southern France in a historic New England farmhouse. (In honor of that, we had a game of boules on the driveway.) The shower! (I took photos -- that's going in my "next" house!) The ping pong table, (my long-armed husband was able to retrieve a bunch of the ping-pong balls that had all rolled into the same spot under the barn!) Barbecuing on the patio. Walks to the water. Kayaking on the river (thank you Bill Michaud! He rents the kayaks out of the Outsiders Inn in Friendship.) The amazing flocks of wild turkeys. The little farm at the top of the street -- where we got to meet all the animals (goats, sheep, donkey, geese, turkeys, chickens, ducks) each with their own story. A swim off Martin Point. The perseids meteor shower -- thank you skies for clearing on the peak night. Wallace grocery store -- excellent, especially their generous lobster rolls and the French bread brought in from Atlantic Bakery in Rockland. The Olson House. And yes, close enough to other points of interest. We revisited The Farnsworth Museum in Rockland. Thank you for being dog-friendly! I think our dog had the best vacation of any of us, almost! We can't recommend the farm highly enough. Perfect place, perfect setting! The Gunters"
