  • Very quaint and peaceful

"We just returned from our visit last week and our vacation was wonderful. The house is tucked away on a private drive with no other neighbors visible from the house. The home itself is very cute and the view from the covered porch is spectacular. Some of the flowers were still in bloom outside which was nice to look out the windows and see. I can imagine the flowers would have been gorgeous earlier in the season. The kitchen was well stocked and the homeowner was very responsive to any questions we had. Our family really enjoyed watching the tide come in and go out so it was almost as if the view changed throughout the day. We were so busy sightseeing around the area that we didn't get to use the kayaks but appreciated they were there if we had chosen to. Our son had a wonderful time running around the back yard so it was nice he had a semi flat area to play. The only thing I would say is if you have toddlers or other small children, be careful on the portion of the deck that is not screened. The railings had very large gaps that a curious child could fall right through so we had to keep our son from going onto that portion of the deck for the most part. We also had to move a few breakable decorations out of reach from our son when we first arrived but that was not a big deal. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend this home if you are looking for a secluded location. We did spend quite a bit of time driving to and from the other areas of the coast such as Rockland, Camden, Port Clyde, and Boothbay Harbor due to where the house is situated on the inlet."

  • Beautiful place for a relaxing vacation

"The views are gorgeous from this secluded cottage. The cottage itself is old but clean and very homey. We would definitely consider renting again should our vacation plans take us again to Maine"

  • Worth a vsiit

"Our three generations spent a very pleasant Thanksgiving here. The house is spacious and comfortable, with good light and views in the living room. The kitchen is well-equipped (it took a little work to figure out the oven). The bedrooms were all comfortable. Ed, the owner, was helpful via phone and email both before and during our visit, and arranged to have more firewood delivered promptly. Kayaking in the area is good, and in warmer weather we'd have enjoyed using the two kayaks as well as exploring the region. ~"

  • Fantastic property.

"Fantastic property in a great off the beat location on the waterfront. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful. Loved the home feeling with all the personal touches. Harlan was great and the lobster he dropped off for us on our dock were great. Memorable experience. Very easy to work with owner."
