  • The sunsets you can watch from the house are worth the price of alone.

"Nice secluded area. It is so quiet at night, the only thing you hear are the loons. The sunsets are breathtaking. Access to the lake is right there. Canoed multiple times on the beautiful lake! Definitely will recommend this place."

  • Fantastic, wonderful, peaceful, Divine!

"This is a perfect getaway place for a couple or a family. The cottage (camp) is cozy and open with all the windows you get tons of light and fresh air. The lake is beyond description with its vistas right from the house and the temperature was as good as it gets for swimming. We paddled and swam whenever we were not looking around the area. The only downside is the roadway between the cottage and the lake, most of the time it is quiet but the locals do come ripping thru which is noisy but a concern if you have kids running back and forth. Otherwise bring your water toys and books and go there to unwind and unplug!"

  • Fabulous Cottage in a great location

"My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and babymoon here, and enjoyed the cottage tremendously. The view from the back deck just makes you want to sit back and relax. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the lake due to the fact it was a bit cold that week. But would certainly return at a different time to this wonderful cottage to do so. The owners were right next door and greeted us when we arrived and answered any questions we had. Which was a great way to start our vacation. The kitchen was awesome and used daily, we even got a chance to boil up our own lobsters for dinner and had all the kitchen equipment needed. The cottage was near some great quaint towns that we explored and got a couple day trips in to Portland and our all time favorite Bar Harbor to see the Acadia National park. Some restaurants that we enjoyed were Red Eats, Moodys Diner, Hartstone Inn (for an amazing fancy meal), and Metcalf sub shop. All were great. Anyways I could keep going on how great this cottage and little city is but I'm sure you've gotten the point. Definitely check out this cottage for the price and location. We plan to return again. Thank your Daryll and Vicki for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your lovely cottage. The O'Conners"

  • If you want PERFECT, then this your place.

"This was our second time staying at the FARMHOUSE. We stayed last year as a BABYMOON and this year as a " Help we are not on a BABYMOON." trip :) Everything was wonderful. The house is a mixture of country and city, and it really is the coziest and warmest place we have ever stayed. from the outdoor shower to the amazing kitchen. SO many pots and pans, wine and beer left in fridge for US. The amazing ping pong location in a barn with a swing overlooking pastures. We walked everyday to the local boat launch, our dog swimming and our 11 month old laughing. I walked to the island at low tied. We sat on the grass in the yard and napped. Being a jaded New Yorker I can say how lovely this place is. There is a farmstand down the street, Thomaston is 15 minutes away. Rockland 20. We went swimming in a lake in Camden and tried to find every ice cream location within 50 miles. The House sleeps IMO 4-6 . There is a downstairs room that we slept in with our child and an upstairs master suit with an amazing bathroom and shower that our friend stayed in. The living room is well appointed and looks like something from a NY loft. Cozy couch, gas stove, tv, dvd player, iPod dock. Grill outside. Laundry Machine. WHAT ELSE DO YOU FREAKING WANT? :) I've never stayed in a place that felt so much like home. TIPS: It's a quiet town and you have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to Rt 1 but that is the point.. isn't it? The upstairs stairs are a bit steep but no problem for a child if supervision . there are 2 beds upstairs . There are many local shops and wonderful stores. A Walmart for emergencies 20 min away. There is an emergency VET 20 min away that we used when our dog ate an onion. :( You can walk and fish to the bay inlet in 10 minutes. You can jog on the dead end dirt road's 3 miles to the end and back. There is a lovely playground park names " Kevin's park" I think ... near the gas station and general store in CUSHING. a very choice spot with a picnic table and a lovely playground ... perfect for the kids.. If you do have younger kids I would bring a gate as there are 2 stairs up to the kitchen . no problem . we got a $20 dollar one at WALL MART. :) The owners are so kind and even mailed back a bib and clothes we forgot. They left a few of their wines and beers they make in Massachusetts... so tasty. so kind. We can't recommend this home enough. We hope to be back again very soon. -aaron, Brooklyn. ny"
