  • The most idyllic Maine oceanfront cottage! Heaven!

"There are far too many words to describe this beautiful seaside cottage. All the other reviewers have successfully described the cottage and location quite accurately. We'll attempt to come close to how much we've enjoyed our week here, and hopefully we'll be back soon!! C Your classic, charming cottage has given us a week of comfortable, carefree living! A The awesome, ever changing view has anchored us to the porch! We can't seem to get enough of it never gets old! M The only misty morning was magical & memorable....and reminds us that fog & mist are a given in Maine! P The porch!! Panoramic & peaceful with pleasing salt air (& oh so much more!) G We are grateful for your generosity in sharing this gorgeous home away from home! The glistening water is glorious in sunlight & moonlight! A The allure of the sea has always attracted the boat captains in our family. They were in heaven all week! (owned 2 Friendship sloops built in Round Pond, Me) L Loved watching & hearing the lobster boats (even when they were heading out at 3:30 am!) AND we enjoyed eating lobsters at Miller's! Luscious & lip smacking good! A The artistry & photos decorating every room gave us a glimpse of the unique history here. S Sunrises, sunsets, shimmering sea & salt air all point to a splendid vacation! H Happiness!! How else would anyone feel who is lucky enough to enjoy a vacation here! I 'Innkeepers' Betsy & Steve are the ideal hosts. It's easy to see the love and great care they have given here. So many little touches both inside & out E Excellent! We've been enchanted every day and filled with everlasting memories.....still more to come! L We've had a low-key, lighthearted week. Hopefully we'll keep this feeling throughout the long winter ahead! S Sincere ~ we're fully satisfied for having a SENSATIONAL vacation! Thank you Betsy & Steve White! The Monk Family"

  • Family Retreat Magic

"What a magical place. It's our second year and it's just as amazing as last year. It's the perfect mix of having your own lodge and cabins in the woods yet close enough to canoe into the amazing town of Damariscotta. The kids spent all day in the water, high tide in the river and low tide in the pool. Bill & Polly are excellent hosts."

  • Beyond Wonderful

"My Family of 11 (8 Adults and 3 Children) rented this property in June. It was beyond amazing! Originally my husband and I met the Owners in November so that we were able to see the house. They were most accommodating and very detailed in showing us around. The house its self is beautiful and very spacious and fully stocked. With 11 people in one house you would have never known it. Especially with one being in a wheelchair. The house was set up with easy access. The bedrooms are spread out to give privacy. The Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you may need. The Dinning area fit us all perfectly so that we were able to sit down for family dinners. There were games and toys for the kids. A very nice TV. Of course I'd have to say the 2 best things were the hot tub that over looked the lake and the rope swing that the kids loved. Plenty of toys for the water and having a large variety of life jackets. The yard was nice for the kids to play in, the hammock for relaxing and the Dock was big enough to enjoy some fishing. The Owners met us again when we arrived and gave a us a tour and make sure that everything was to our liking. They were very efficient and wonderful to deal with. I have rented houses in Maine before and this is by far the best one and already planning for next year!"

  • A retreat

"A lovely home in a secluded place. Quiet, peaceful and a needed retreat from the difficult time we have just gone through. The home has everything you will need for a wonderful stay. A fully stocked kitchen, laundry materials, nice linens, smart TV's, wifi, comfortable seating for contemplating the magnificent view. The coup de grace for my companions and I was having a garage to pull into as we stayed during a snow storm. Driveway was promptly plowed. Tim picked up his phone right away when we called with a teensy tiny infinitesimal issue. A bald eagle flies by almost daily, deer visit, loons swim by along with other sea birds...and this in February. Rockland and Camden both a short drive, offer galleries, scenic views, shopping and sophisticated dining and food options. Megunticook Market supplied our catering but we popped into the nearby Market Basket and see they also have wonderful offerings. The natural food store 2 minutes from the home has a stash of the super dark maple syrup almost unheard of anymore (ask for it- it's in the refrigerator). Rockland has the Farnsworth Museum for Andrew Wyeth watercolors and the home featured in so many of his painting (think Christina) is a nearby museum open in the summer. If you are an art lover, this museum should not be missed, the curator has done a wonderful job representing many styles. I recommend this home without reservation and will return again."
