  • Peaceful, comfortable get away

"Comfortable accommodations, beautiful setting with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Very private location with no light or noise pollution - heaven. Our small dog enjoyed the yard. Very convenient location for travelling the coast of Maine, both north and south. We have already reserved for next year!"

  • Magical property, great for a group stay

"We've spent NYE at the Farmhouse for 2 years in a row now. I can't say enough about this place! Totally spacious for 10 people. We cooked all of our meals at the house - cookware and dish ware is plentiful. We spent our days hanging out by the fire in the living room (plenty of chopped wood available), playing ping pong and basketball in the barn (it's decorated with christmas lights which make for a really cute environment in the evening), and walking out to the ocean. Maggie is a wonderful host, super responsive. I highly recommend this property for any type of stay."

  • It couldn't have been better.

"My wife and I were looking for a last minute place to get away, far away, after a hectic spring and early summer work schedule that left us in need of a complete change of scene and change of pace, with no time even to think about planning a vacation in advance. As a VRBO owner, myself, I went to that website first. I don’t know what I even typed in to the search bar, but Marc Poirier’s “Artist Retreat” was the first possibility to pop up on the screen. I read the description: “post and beam open concept home,” “dead-end street in a quiet fishing village,” “five minute walk to…a lobster pound that will cook and serve you up some lobster and clams right on their deck.” “Beam me up, Scotty,” my heart sang as I checked the calendar and discovered that it was available for the dates I needed. The “Artists Retreat” did not disappoint. It was, indeed, a great and gracious home base for us to regroup and refocus, and enjoy the central Maine coast, from Wiscasset to Bar Harbor, from its many art galleries, museums and antique shops, to its breathtaking coves and coastline. Though the house came with a full kitchen, we found ourselves on the road most evenings at dinner time feasting harbor side in one town after the other on some of the best seafood I have had in my life. But, most special for me, was sitting at the kitchen table at 7 a.m. every morning, savoring my first cup of coffee, looking out the window at the cove beyond shrouded in mist, watching as the sun slowly rose burning through the haze to reveal the lobster boats riding at anchor and the islands beyond. It couldn’t have been any better."

  • Perfect house for vacation!

"I can't say enough how perfect and beautiful this house is. Every room is cozy and welcoming with a great eye for decoration and color. Little spots that beg you to sit and read a book. Everything is renovated and spotless. The bathrooms have all the little touches you would want. The kitchen is large and stocked with everything you could want to cook including a full set of spices. The owner warned us beforehand that cell service could be spotty or non existent, and thoughtfully provided one to be used if we needed it. Tim the owner was prompt in communicating and very accommodating to our needs. Bobbi Joe whose number is posted at the house and Lobsters was very helpful and took our orders for Lobster all week. Stay here you will love it!"
