  • Fabulous Cottage - Fabulous Location!!

"We recently returned from introducing our Daughter and her family to Maine and stayed at Stepping Stones. This cottage has large bedrooms for the size of the cottage and absolutely lovely appointments. All you need is there. It is truly a turn key property, very well kept and Location .. Location .. Location!! We hated to leave! There is no air conditioning, however it is not needed with the ocean breeze. We brought fans and never used them. Boothbay Harbor Region has lots to offer, restaurants, shops, galleries, Whale Watching, Boat trips on the harbor, Lighthouse tours and much more. The owner is very accommodating and easy to work with. I would rent here again in a heartbeat!!"

  • So Relaxing!

"My wife and two college/high school-age sons spent a beautiful relaxing week. My favorite activity: sit on the porch with a good book and the gorgeous views of the bay and out to the ocean -- sometimes busy but not disturbing with lobsterman and other boats, plus ducks and osprey diving for fish out front, couple of seals out in the harbor, and what I think was a mink or otter late one afternoon. The photos are accurate, it's truly beautiful. Kitchen is a bit rustic, again as advertised, but everything works and it's fully stocked with all the kitchen gear you need. Upstairs bedrooms also rustic but charming and clean. Towels/linens provided and plentiful. We enjoyed easy day trips to Freeport for LL Bean and Rockland to see friends -- and Red's in Wiscasset is a must for lobster roll and fried clams (standing in line is half the fun). Best meal on Southport: Newagen Seaside Inn -- and Robinson's Wharf is good for lobster -- both no more than 5 minutes from the house. The landlord was very accessible and helpful, no problems at all. Still dreaming of the view off the porch while sweltering in DC writing this!"

  • A great stay in Maine

"We had a girlfriends reunion at this beautiful Maine home and I can't say enough about the comfort and location of this charming waterfront cottage. We had plenty of space to spread out, a great kitchen equipped with everything that you could possibly need, a wonderfully wide wrapped porch where we spent hours enjoying our morning coffee, having evening cocktails, watching the boats go by, and catching up with old friends. The Owl's Nest has been very well thought out and provides every comfort for you to enjoy coastal Maine at it's best. The home is "tucked in" to enjoy all the privacy that you would need but close enough for walking to the charming general store where the breakfast pizza is so delicious. We enjoyed fishing, shopping and dining in the quaint downtown area, relaxing walks throughout Boothbay, cooking in the great kitchen, and warm cozy fires during the cool evenings of May. And, our weather was awesome so it made for a perfect week for making great memories. We all loved it and want to come back with our families. Next time though, we will be enjoying the boathouse... having ping pong tournaments and dancing under the disco ball.... just love that touch! Thank you, Bob, for the gracious comfort of your home for your guests."
