  • Peaceful stay at Laughing Gull cottage

"This is an incredibly special place. Storybook cottage is exactly how I would describe it. We spent one week here and wish we stayed longer. The cottage has the best views (sunsets were breathtaking) and the personal touches inside the cabin were lovely (the lamps, antique dressers, old phone, etc). We slept so well in the cozy queen bed and loved the electric blanket! The fireplace is an awesome stone fireplace that runs from floor to ceiling. This is the perfect place to escape from it all. It is truly a special place and so very peaceful. We loved Pemaquid Lighthouse (especially climbing down the rocks close to the ocean) and Pemaquid Beach. For anyone following a plant based diet we found two neat places in Damariscotta- Savory Dining has neat veg options and Salt Bay Cafe has an entire veg menu! We can't say enough good about Laughing Gull, the kind owners, and the area. We will be back!"

  • Perfect summer cottage

"Lovely property with lovely owners. Huge backyard for kids (and adults) to run around in. Great, serene beaches literally a stone's throw away. Highly recommended!"

  • Perfect house in perfect location!

"Perfect house in perfect location! Just steps away from both the neighborhood and Pemaquid beaches, this house was roomy enough for our family of six adults. The house is well equipped and offers a lot--including outdoor shower and a hammock. The rooms are spacious, the house is very clean, and the kitchen is well stocked so it was easy to cook up some blueberry muffins or grill outside! It is an easy walk to Pemaquid harbor for kayaking, waterfront dining, a visit to the old fort. Every evening we were out for a neighborhood walk to enjoy the sunsets. The boat to Monhegan Island is just a short drive away. There is a lot to do in the area, but also a lot to do without getting in a car. ....And there are incredible cinnamon buns at the nearby cafe!"

  • Perfectly fantastic

"Everything was perfect, the only thing I wish is that I had longer to stay. The house is absolutely charming! From the minute I walked through the door, I felt so comfortable; everywhere I looked there were so many personal touches that said “home”! I walked out on the beach every day, and every day I found some sea glass. Your home lived up to its name! Each day I came in the pockets full of treasures from your beach. Falling asleep to the sound of the surf was purely perfect! The house is well equipped; everything I needed was there; it was the most restful and relaxing vacation I have had in years! I have some of the greatest sunset pictures I have ever taken; the sunsets from your beach are stunning! It is indeed a most restful and magical place."
