  • Very well equipped rental property...great location...accommodating owners

"My wife and I and have stayed in numerous vacation rental properties in various locations around the country and the "Cabin on States Point Road" is probably the most well equipped home that we have experienced. Simply put, everything is provided for a great vacation. The kitchen has every type of dish, glassware, gadget, and pot that you can imagine. There's a full size stove, fridge and microwave and even a dishwasher...a rare find. The wireless Wi-Fi was very reliable. The satellite TV enabled us to keep up with the world and for those who want more, there's a fairly extensive list of channels...unlike many vacation rental properties with "bare bones" cable. We were able to hook up our Roku device and watch movies streamed flawlessly. There are no annoying cleaning or pet charges...just a straight forward rental fee with no hidden add-ons. The private setting is ideal for relaxing and "getting away from it all". Yet, the location is readily accessible to the many attractions of mid-coastal Maine. Our dog had a great time, too. I discovered that a walk down to Rte 131 and on to the end of States Point Rd then back to the cabin was exactly 2.0 miles. Border Collie Jesse and I enjoyed our daily walks. As a member of a YMCA in Connecticut, I was able to use the Y in Rockland with no fee. It's an easy 12.5 mi ride from the Cabin. Running on the treadmill with the harbor right in front of me, no doubt, provided additional motivation. All in all, if you're heading to mid-coast Maine, be sure to give this vacation rental property serious consideration."

  • Little knotty pine Maine cottage with a big view

"This knotty pine cottage with it's magnificent water view epitomizes the Maine experience. The cottage is a bit rustic but with all the essential comforts of home. Located in mid coastal Maine, it is easily accessible to popular sites, such as Acadia National Park, Monhegan Island, and Marshall Lighthouse, and not to mention the multitude of antique stores(such as those in Warren, Maine). If traveling the first part of October, the tourist will be awarded with a fantastic leaf show.....reds, oranges, sunny yellows. After your day of sightseeing, you will return to the cottage for another breathtaking view of the water...right outside your door. Lobster fishermen anchor their boats early in the morning and return to their home at night. Our host and hostess were very gracious as well. I would highly recommend this cottage for a true "Maine experience"."

  • The Sadler House is a very comfortable, beautifully furnished home.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week-end at the Sadler House. The house was emaculate and and the furnishings were exceptional to accommodate both adults and children. Our young grandsons particularly enjoyed their bedroom with the bunk beds and toys. The adults in our group appreciated the variety of books and comfortable places to read. The large dining table was great for enjoying our meals, as well as playing Uno and working puzzles. The weather was rainy during part of our time there; however, we had plenty of fun in the spacious house. The owners provided excellent information on places to eat and fun activities in the area. They were very gracious in their communication with us regarding our renting their home. We highly recommend you stay at the Sadler House."

  • Wonderful time on Pemaquid Lake

"Our stay in Diane's house was wonderful. Our group was 6 adults and 2 babies aged 10 mos and 6 mos. Most importantly, the house worked perfectly for our group. My husband and I had the top floor suite with its spacious room, view of the lake, and private bathroom, while our married kids shared the other 3 rooms with their babies. We did not ever hear the babies cry at night :-), and each couple felt they had ample room for themselves and their babies. The setting is as picturesque as the photos. We constantly took advantage of the lawn, hammock, outdoor furniture, picnic table, abutting wooded area and lake shore. The covered patio is also perfect for reading, breakfasting, and anything else we wanted when not swimming, canoeing, or taking advantage of the area around Nobleboro. Diane's kitchen is very well stocked and easy to use, and the grill is impressively large. With the kitchen on the same level as the comfortable sitting area and outdoor patio, we made good use of it. There is a good size sandy beach area (with a fire pit which we embarrassingly didn't use!). While the lake entrance was exceptionally baby-friendly, a mention of the muck, mush and weeds we had to swim through to get out to the float and otherwise beautifully clear, refreshing and gorgeous lake. That just took getting used to til it became 'what is,' and part of the overall fabulous lake experience. In addition to Diane's wonderful house, and the ease of communicating with her, we loved the area around it and every day went hiking south towards Boothbay, north towards Camden, or locally on the Damariscotta River Association trails; all were less than 25 minutes away. There is also an abundance of farm stands and Hannafords Markets. I was impressed with the fish and local produce they carry. This part of Maine has tons of casual restaurants, which also suited our family with the little ones. Captain's Fresh Seafood, (Waldoboro), Schooner's Landing (Damariscotta) are but 2 of the casual eateries we visited for oysters, lobster salad, fish, shrimp...whatever. All in all, we enthusiastically recommend Diane's house for a fabulous Nobleboro stay, and we hope to return. We had a perfect vacation there."
