  • Cottage on the bay

"We got to the house after dark and found the House. Basic house covering all your needs. When we woke the next morning and saw the view for the first time we where amazed. The owner was very attentive and we plan on a return visit. Did not kayak but would be a great place to go. Also the transportation Museum in Owls Head is worth a visit. The house is in quite area but close enough to main roads."

  • There's No Place Like Schooners Landing!!!

"Mere words will never capture what it’s like to spend time at Schooners Landing. The homes as you approach belie what you are about to experience. Take the captivating view as you begin the descent down the driveway. If you could multiply that exponentially, you’ll approach what you’ll find in every room of this home. Having vacationed in many places throughout the world, none surpass this. The entire coast of Maine boasts lighthouses, lobsters, quaint towns, local eateries and spectacular vistas, as does Owl’s Head. However, the home itself is what makes this vacation experience unique. You know the expression “there’s something for everyone”? This is a vast understatement! Each room is carefully and expertly decorated in a way that captures the local color, but with such attention to detail that you’ll feel more like this space has been designed just for you! (This statement would apply to small children, teens, young adults, parents, and grandparents!) Paula and Michael have done a superb job of equipping their home with everything possible that someone would want to see, use or do. Literally, no stone has been left unturned. We love Maine, and have vacationed there for many years. In the past we chose a different area each time. For years now, we have returned to Owl’s Head, to this particular home. We feel there’s so much to be discovered and experienced in this home, that our allotted vacation time just doesn’t allow us to fully take it all in. This home has to be experienced to be truly appreciated. And once is definitely not enough! Paula and Michael, thank you for all you do and give of yourselves in making Schooners Landing our family’s favorite vacation home!"

  • A Wonderful Time!

"We returned again to our favorite escape location. Hawkweed Cottage has always been a great escape. We celebrated our 46 year Anniversary while we were there. We love watching the lobster boats leave in the morning, and return hours later. It was really magical when we were socked in by fog, and could barely see the boats as they coasted by. Dinners in Camden are always perfect, and time with our Daughter and Grandson......priceless!"

  • I'll be back!

"I have been coming to Maine since 1993 and renting houses on the ocean. This cottage on Owl's Head is, by far, the nicest! In fact, this is my second visit. I retired in May, and my sisters, nieces and I wanted to go on a girls trip to celebrate so I recommended this cottage. My family loved it! From the moment we pulled into the driveway, they were struck by the charm of the place. Upon entering the main cottage, we were greeted with fresh flowers in the living room, fresh fruit on the dining room table, and beautiful views of the ocean from the dining room and kitchen. The owner even called us to make sure everything was to our liking. Other amenities included a wonderfully appointed kitchen, a large screen TV in the living room, and free WiFi. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and there are plenty of clean towels. And that's just the main cottage! The finished carriage house is a great place for kids with its own flat screen TV. One of my sisters stayed in the charming and fully furnished beach house down by the ocean and said she could stay there forever. During the day we explored light houses, hiked in nearby Camden Hills State Park, and took an easy day trip up to Acadia Nat'l Park. In the evenings back at the cottage, we enjoyed star gazing around a campfire down at the beach. I definitely recommend this wonderful cottage experience. I know I intend to return."
