  • week stay at the cottage

"we stayed at this house, one of the most peaceful, private, and beautiful places we have stayed in Maine. It is very secluded, backs into the woods, and has an open front of cottage with a wonderful deck and lookout...you can watch the tides go in and way out, paddle in them when in....we went out one evening, and the water was so warm, like bath water...the rooms were comfortable, cozy, and fine...you can walk down the road to a nature preserve, climb up to the top, and see out for miles and miles and miles....close to Popham beach, and Reed state park, both highly recommended places to go...we loved our stay!!!! I would hope to return next year..."

  • very nice, quiet

"This was perfect for a quiet, off-season week spent working on a novel. Neighbors were nearly invisible. The house has full amenities, heat, beautiful view, few distractions, a big enough yard for kids to run around in, tide-pooling at low tide, and proximity to Boothbay Harbor when you want restaurants and tchotchkes. Good-sized grocery store 5 minutes away. Patronize the good folks at Red Cup Coffee House. Enjoy Italian food at Port, and try the haddock chowder at Oak Street Provisions. I had trouble finding the place because I arrived when it was dark and missed a key turn, but during the day it is easy to find, and very close to the botanical gardens (closed off-season)."

  • Sweet sweet haven

"If you love nature and everything it offers, plus the best people around, this abode is the place to visit. We enjoyed the Giant Stairs and Potts Point, watched eagles, herons, seals, meteor showers, rock formations and so much more. We stayed in osprey's nest with above deck for excellent view. The cottage was charming and well stocked from books and binoculars to wonderful decor. We especially enjoyed peninsula map, original artwork, the deck and overall comfort. Vacationers who stayed on lower portion of cottage were wonderful people who shared both good conversation and showed us the the art of gathering periwinkles and how to prepare them. Also went on a lobster boat excursion with Captain Jay and learned about the lobster trapping industry along with the anatomy and biology of the lobster itself. We most definitely would come back if the opportunity should ever arise ! Cynthia Ivy"

  • It is a nice little one bedroom. Very cozy with everything you need including a lovely deck.

"Perfect place to get away. Quiet location when I traveled. Great view from deck! There is a little beach just a short walk away for some fun rock explorations. Would definitely visit again!"
