  • It doesn't get any better than this!

"My husband and I just spent a hugely enjoyable and idyllic week at the Wicked Cute Cabin on Norton Pond! We went kayaking right from our own private dock, we swam off the dock in the refreshing water, we gazed at stars from the chairs on the dock (you can see the Milky Way spread across the expanse of the sky!) while listening to the call of the loons and watching the lights from neighboring cabins twinkle on the water. We sat in the chairs under the shade of the trees enjoying the silence and beauty of the lake. We were there during the 4th of July celebrations and enjoyed private "surround sound" fireworks that echoed around the lake. The view of the fireworks from the middle of the lake was awesome! We invited friends and family for an evening barbecue at the outdoor picnic table and later toasted marshmallows to make s'mores around the campfire. One of our daughters and her husband joined us at the cabin for two nights. There was lots of space for all of us and our two dogs. The cabin is cozy, the beds comfortable, with all the conveniences of home. The kitchen is fully outfitted and got all the groceries we needed from the stores in Camden. There's lots to see and visit in the area, although it was hard to tear ourselves away from the lake and our cozy cottage. My husband went on hikes with our dog only a few miles from the cabin. We took a day trip to Acadia for lunch, a hike, and dinner. You won't find a better, more relaxing, or fun vacation spot than this! We'll be back!"

  • One of our best vacations ever!

"We (three couples from the Dallas area) loved our stay in this beautifully restored home in Camden. We have vacationed together every summer for several years and we all agreed that the home, it's location, and the beauty of the area made it one of our best trips ever. The home is just as described by Mary in her listing. It has a good layout for privacy when desired, but also has a nice den, dining room, kitchen, and outside sitting area where we all gathered for most of the time during our stay. We cooked a few meals (including steaming lobsters one evening) in the well equipped kitchen, but many times, we walked a short distance to the downtown harbor area where we enjoyed several excellent meals in the abundant restaurants there. There is plenty to do and see in the area (Acadia National Park, Mount Battie, museums, etc) and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We hope to make it back to this beautiful home in a few years."

  • Beautiful home in a fantastic location

"This house was the perfect size and layout for our large, multi-generational family. In total, we had 9 adults and 2 children ranging from ages 3 to 60. There was enough room in the home for everyone to spread out to have time alone, while the main floor was perfect when we all got together. The kitchen was fabulous for cooking family dinners and we made a lot of use of the expansive deck. All of the little extras provided, from the spice drawer to the game/puzzle collection, to the provided firewood and binoculars made it easy to feel at home from the minute we arrived. The location is very quiet and surrounded by woods with no road traffic, yet still only a few minutes out of town. The sunrise every morning over the river was absolutely beautiful and the campfire pit was perfect for the evenings. Communicating with Sandra was quick and easy and she provided us with some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat in the area which we took advantage of. There are only a couple things I would change about the home to make it even better: 1) The house only has 3 window A/C units. It was a bit tricky figuring out who in our group would be stuck in a bedroom without the A/C. It turned out just fine because we went in late August and the temperature cooled down a lot at night, so the provided box window fans kept the rooms plenty cool. However, if we had gone earlier in the summer without the cooler evenings, the older adults in our group would have had some problems sleeping in the heat. 2) It was a little tricky figuring out how to make use of the canoe since the shoreline is very rocky. On our last day we realized that high tide in the early afternoon was the perfect time to launch the boat. We noticed many other homes on the river had long docks that extend into the water, which would be beneficial for using the canoe even at lower tide. 3) The Queen bedroom on the main floor (the converted office) lacked a bit of privacy due to the glass pocket doors that were only covered with a sheer curtain. My sister-in-law ended up staying comfortably in this room, but an adult couple might want more privacy. Overall, I would highly recommend this home and location for visiting Maine. My family had an awesome time and if we ever come back to the area, this is where we would stay again without hesitation! Thank you Sandra for sharing your home with us!!!"

  • Peaceful, comfortable get away

"Comfortable accommodations, beautiful setting with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Very private location with no light or noise pollution - heaven. Our small dog enjoyed the yard. Very convenient location for travelling the coast of Maine, both north and south. We have already reserved for next year!"
