  • A cozy little appartment that had everything we wanted

"Walking into the apartment on the first day we new that we had made the right choice. It was like a little cabin that had been turned into an apartment. The wood floors gave the whole place a nice warm light and the paint choices added cheerful color. It was very nice to come back to the apartment each night after a day of exploring the Maine coastline. The apartment was well setup so it was easy to cook or just relax. There are many restaurants within an easy drive so choosing to go out for dinner was always a convenient option. The owners, Jackie and George, were available if we had questions or needed anything and they clearly put the effort in to make sure we were comfortable and happy in the apartment. They also provided us with lots of information on the area which helped us find our way around quickly. This was a great little place to have as a base of operations for our adventures in Maine and we would absolutely stay there again."

  • Great value for a family vacation.

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Anne's Cottage. "Sea View" is a bit deceiving but regardless it is located in a quiet area which was very pleasant for a spring stay The trees were blooming and the smell of lilacs was in the air. It is located across the street from the beach with houses and big beautiful trees blocking the view for the most part. The cottage is very convenient to restaurants and shops.. We found the cottage very clean and supplied with all you may need other than food for meals. The downstairs bedroom was geared towards children and one of the windows had no curtain. Would not think a couple would be comfortable there. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable. Woke up to the beautiful Maine sunshine coming in the windows. The bathroom has a washer and dryer along with a tub/shower. We did have to hang a sheet over the window. LOL It is right beside the toilet and tub and when the lights are on at night it can offer quite a peep show. The neighbors are not close but we did see them out in their yards often. Easy fix and not a problem. I quess if I had a complaint it would be lack of comfortable seating in the living room. There is a nice love seat and only a wooden chair. A pretty chair but not one to relax in. Off the living room is a large deck. We very much enjoyed sitting out there enjoying nature. I would not recommend the cottage for 2 couples to stay but definitely for an affordable family trip to Maine. Since getting home I have suggested it to a few of my friends. There are not a lot of frills like you might expect from a VRBO rental but it is a true taste of Maine and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again."

  • A wonderful place for a summer visit

"We had an extended stay here and loved it. The house and property are beautiful; every space has been carefully tended and tastefully decorated. The couches, chairs, and beds are all very comfortable. Although there are many great restaurants in Camden--including the new Rhumb Line, which is only about 2 minutes walk from the house--we did a lot of our own cooking and the kitchen was excellent, as was the large outdoor lobster cooking pot and grill. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out at the steamboat landing, where the lobster boats come and go. You cannot see the ocean from every angle, but you can see it in many spots and it is an ever-changing feast for the senses. The back yard is also beautiful, ringed with flowers and neatly tended. We liked being close to town, but some people might find the Lyman-Morse ship repair yard next door to be a bit loud at times. They are often moving boats around or working on them. For the most part it was not an issue. There were also a couple of weddings and celebrations at the nearby yacht club with live music that played until 10 or 11pm, but we quite liked it. This is an excellent rental, and the owners were very helpful, answering any questions we had and making sure everything was just right."
