  • Another Fabulous Riverwatch Vacation

"This was our second time renting Riverwatch, and it was just as wonderful as the the first. First of all, the house is ideally located, tastefully decorated and perfectly configured for our family of four. It's on a beautiful spot along the St George River and is close to lovely beaches and the towns of Tenants Harbor and Rockland. While we've been vacationing in this area for years, we're always on the lookout for new discoveries. The beach on Clark Island was this year's favorite. For our family, one of the best aspects of this particular rental is the fact that the master bed and bath are in a separate cottage, just a few feet from the main house. It is very clear that the owners take good care of their property and continue to make updates and improvements. The new couch and outdoor chairs were a big plus, for example. Speaking of the owners, Kathryn is wonderful to deal with. She answers emails promptly, communicates thoroughly and seems genuinely concerned that her guests all have a wonderful time. We did and can't wait to return. Thank you Kathryn and Joe!"

  • Wonderful house, wonderful setting

"This is a fantastic house to stay in with young kids - there's a fully stocked playroom with toys and books, a ton of space for them to explore, and a swing-set outside as well as a lot of property. Our 3- and 6-year-old kids loved it here. There's plenty for adults too - a quick drive to ocean and lake, and gorgeous hiking pretty much right out the door. Amanda provided directions for a short hike (~one mile) up Mt Cameron, which not only had great views but was loaded with fresh blueberries. We were able to take our young kids up that one, and for a longer adult hike went all the way into Camden, which is around 6 miles and includes views from 3 or 4 summits along the way. Wonderful. My husband's parents and sister stayed with us for part of the time and there was plenty of room for everyone, and nearby activities for everyone to enjoy. We enjoyed wine-tasting next door one afternoon, and were frequent visitors of the farm stand up the road. We ate most meals at home and the kitchen was great - stocked with a higher quality of pans and utensils than many rentals. Amanda was great to work with - we had trouble with the internet our first day, and she had someone come pick up the router and take it to be fixed. No issues after that, and we really appreciated her responsiveness. The house was everything we could have hoped for -- if we come back to the area, we would definitely stay there again!"

  • Extraordinary location

"Alden and Karen were the perfect hosts in sharing their home with our family. From the incredible landscaping on the property, to the beautiful eclectic home, to the five bouquets of live flowers situated throughout the home, this was THE special place to spend a delightful week in Maine. Our family, ranging in ages of eight to seventy-two, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone. Alden and Karen, Many, many thanks. The Cadwallader Family"
