  • Idyllic Summer

"This was the perfect summer! Greg and Vivian are gracious hosts with an ability to include the most thoughtful details to their home and from the moment you arrive their home welcomes you in with open arms. Pennyroyal is a gorgeous and well appointed home. There is a very well outfitted kitchen with everything you need to make a simple snack to gourmet meals. There is a breakfast bar and dining table with seating for 6. A coffee maker and Keurig for choosing the quick coffee or a pot to last the day. The Pizza Oven is perfect for running down to Brooks and getting the pizza kits from Wentworth Grocery and the toppings fresh from the Co-Op across the street! 2 cast iron skillets that had me shopping for my own for home. The home continues with its welcoming living room with lovely comfortable furniture, throw blankets and lovely wood floors/area rugs. The bedrooms are all furnished with inviting sleeping arrangements and luxurious linens. There are extra blankets and linens as needed. Pennyroyal has hours of trails and hiking awaiting you. The pond and grounds are well maintained, tranquil, and greets you each morning with a smile. Spend hours fishing, swimming, watching the eagles soar and frogs catch their lunch, or just reading and taking in the tranquility. A short walk has you at the stream with swimming hole and waterfall that is the perfect way to spend a warm afternoon. A walk up the hill at sunset leaves one full of wonder and peace. There are many evenings we were greeted by deer and other fabulous wildlife. Our dog loved the manicured lawn and being able to run, run, run, play fetch, and enjoyed all the smells the creatures share. The area is remote, but still only 15 minutes to the grocery store, co-op, and be sure to stop in at Ralph's Cafe for a taste of their scratch kitchen and enjoy the locals camaraderie. 30 minutes to Belfast for the coastal delights Maine has to offer and start your explorations of all the coastal delights north and south! For conveniences, nightlife, and airport Bangor is only 30 minutes away as well. This was an amazing summer filled with all that is Maine."

  • Perfect Getaway!

"I really loved my week at the cabin. It is impeccably clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Lisa and Mike have thought of everything you need. It was just like being at home! We had three adults stay at the cabin. It was perfect, and could have accommodated more. We liked having the second bathroom and access to laundry. My absolute favorite part was relaxing on the screened in porch overlooking the lake. The lake is beautiful. I spent every morning kayaking during the morning hours. In the afternoons we swam and played in the water, followed by a fire in the fire pit on the beach. My brother found the fishing in the lake at night to be excellent! While the cabin is tucked nicely away from the hustle and bustle, there are certainly things to do in the area if you want to explore. We went to Acadia twice, spent a day in Belfast walking around the shops and toured Fort Know. Lisa has a nice binder of local attractions and restaurants in the cabin and there is certainly things to do for everyone. I highly recommend this cabin. I am definitely looking forward to my next stay!"

  • An Idyllic, Perfect Week

"My adult sons and girlfriend, my sister, my beau, and I spent a perfect week at the Toddy Pond Farm guest house. The beds are firm and comfortable, the rooms clean and of the right number. Two full bathrooms ease the crowd crunch. The kitchen is well equipped, with a gas grill in the patio. The large gathering/dining room couldn't be better and is equipped with cards and games; several of us napped on the day beds at various times. The pond down the hill was clear, quiet, and beautiful, with a swimming dock, and kayaks available to paddle out to the loons. We easily drove into Belfast for restaurants and history when we wanted, and gladly stayed at the house for games, reading, swimming, and more. Our friendly and gracious hosts were the best, as was watching a working family farm in action. Oh, and the dairy products! It was worth every extra penny to go through two glass half gallons of fresh milk and the same of yogurt, rich yellow-yolked eggs from the chickens wandering around, fabulous ice cream sandwiches. We didn't even dent the meat freezer! Highly recommend for your artist retreat, your family reunion, or your couples getaway. We'll be back, for sure."
