  • Great time on a beautiful piece of property

"I had a great time last weekend thanks to extremely accommodating landlords who were not only helpful but went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. The property is well kept and the house was a pleasure to relax in. Upon arrival, I met with Darren and Melissa who welcomed me with a tour of the property and some background. Super sweet people who are very dog friendly (which is awesome given the size of the property---your dogs will love it!) and helpful. The house was in great shape--all the linens were clean and the kitchen works like new. The bathroom is brand new and is in top shape. The grounds around the home include a porch and fire pit, and the walk to the kennebec is minutes. I would seriously recommend this rental for anyone looking for a nice, relaxing, quiet weekend away in true Maine fashion. You are minutes from Bath/Bruinswick if you wanted a little more excitement too."

  • A Cabin in the Balsams

"With only the smell of the balsam trees, the sound of the breeze in those trees and the birds in their lofty perches to touch your senses, you would never know you were 10-12 minutes from Booth Bay Harbor Town Center and its bustling crowds of tourists. Truly a place to kick back and relax, w/o the self-imposed distractions of laptops and tablets that we purposefully left home and cell phones locked in the car glove box to use only for emergencies. How about living life as we used to enjoy it reading the newspapers, and a good book (that the cottage has plenty of) and lots of conversation over coffee at breakfast. Not bad!! The cottage has everything you need to enjoy a week or a month within easy reach and well organized.; Its beds are comfortable albeit somewhat difficult to make up and the cottage is well maintained and very clean. Its not a Best Western or a Holiday Inn, etc., its a great little home away from home; a wonderful place to get away and smell the balsams!! P.S. the Lobster at Robinsons is the best. The ferry trip and day on Monhegan Island with the short hike to the cliffs on the Eastern side of the island is not to be missed."

  • A Wonderful Place to Stay

"My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here for nine nights. The apartment is on the second floor over a garage where John stores his tractor. It is large with a great kitchen to work in, a sleeping area set aside from the main living area and a large "living room" with plush comfortable chairs, lots of windows, a large porch, a stereo amplifier, television, DVD player (and DVD's) and plenty of lighting. The bed is very comfortable, there were extra blankets available and there were a lot of small items that came in handy. If you come during the right time of the year you get to pick whatever you want from their farm market at no extra cost. What is really nice is the quiet. The one apartment is all there is to rent out and the only other house on the long lane leading towards the water is John & Lucy's house and even that is set pretty far away. So you have real privacy. The television is for watching DVD's or streaming from your computer, there is no on-air reception. The bathroom is functional but just a little weird with a shower and toilet in one small area, then a bar-sized sink in an adjoining area that closes off for privacy. Lots of hot water and lots of storage for a bathroom. There is a dishwasher (that I never used), a microwave and plenty of pots, pans, dishes, cups and utensils. The walk to the beach takes six or seven minutes at most - once you're there it is very, very private. Rocky of course (this is Maine) but there will be two chairs waiting for you and more that you can carry down if you like. We can't recommend this place highly enough."

  • Beautiful Reunion in Maine

"My family and I stayed here for a week this August. It was our first time to Maine and this house didn't disappoint. The inside is beautiful and covered in books, the back deck is perfect for watching the tide come in and out and the front is great to get shade for the summer sun. The house came with everything you could need, appliance wise (sans toaster which was just fine). We had 8 adults staying overnight and had room for extra bodies if needed. The location is great, super close to Rockland AND Port Clyde. We never ran out of activities. The kayaks that are at the house are a must do! Peter was always available to answer questions and give suggestions, he was EXTREMELY helpful. I would return in a heartbeat!"
