  • Amenities, location, and waterfront view couldn't be better!

"Peregrine Cottage was totally satisfying in every way. The house is comfortably and attractively furnished with everything we could have possibly needed, and there's a water view from every room on the three floors. Additionally, the ground floor patio, fire pit and yard seating, deck, and lovely sunroom allow guests to take full advantage of the beautiful view. and the sunsets are incredible! We stopped for a few rolls of toilet paper on the way from the airport, just to get us by before we could shop the next day for other basic supplies--salt and pepper, paper towels, plastic wrap, soap, etc. We needn't have worried---the kitchen, pantry, bathrooms, and laundry room were well stocked to meet all our needs. Of course we supplied our own food, but the cupboard had salt and pepper, herbs and spices, and other items we were invited to use, as well as cereal and milk as an emergency stopgap before shopping. While a small and pricy market is in nearby Castine, a full supermarket is thirty minutes away, encouraging careful planning ahead. The location is ideal for short day trips to neighboring villages, islands, and Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. Lots of really pretty countryside scenery--well-kept farms and residences, small towns, wooded areas, and water in one form or another everywhere. We visited Fort Hood, the Blue HIll County Fair, and other varied attractions, but the town of Castine turned out to be our favorite town; it's really pretty with lots of historical sites to explore. Just one note in case it matters: bedrooms are on ground and third floor, meaning it's necessary to use stairs either up or down. (Living and dining areas and kitchen are on first floor, between the two floors with bedrooms.) This wasn't an issue for us, but could be to some. There's a full bath on each of three floors. We were two couples, and each couple had a bedroom with a full bath (and more beds than the four of us needed). We have only praise for Peregrine Cottage and its most hospitable and gracious owner, who wanted to verify that we had everything we needed. Our stay was just great, and we appreciate Mary Lou's sharing her family's lovely waterfront cottage!"

  • Comfortable, accommodating, and so much more!

"Perfect place to settle for a week in Camden! Maine Squeeze was located very close to town and even a short walk to the biweekly Farmers Market. All other activities such as hiking Mt. Battie, swimming in Meguntacook Lake, winery visit, and museums in Rockland are a short drive away. The cottage itself was very comfortable, very well equipped, tv, wifi, washer/dryer, and a delightful yard full of flowers, places to sit, grill and eat outside on beautiful nights! Thank you, Sara, we had an amazing stay at your Maine Squeeze!"

  • Perfect in Every way !!!

"What a treasure...34 Sea St is the most Welcoming rental I have ever stayed in !! And Joanne is such an amazing and thoughtful owner !! Every possible need for your visit has been thought of and the house is so comfortable and convenient. There are several different sitting areas as well as a lovely outdoor covered porch. The bedrooms are all spacious and had exceptional quality bedding. And the kitchen was better stocked than my own ! The furnishing are a eclectic mix of beautiful antique pieces and comfy sofas and chairs, along with an amazing collection of artwork. Plus, you are just a very short walk away from the beautiful Camden Harbor, shops and restaurants! If you get in your car you can be at Camden Hills State Park, Megunticook Lake or the beach in less than 10 minutes!! We will look forward to our next stay at this wonderful home!"
