  • Cousins at Cousin's Cove

"Cousins at Cousin’s Cove We had a party of 14 cousins stay at Cousin’s Cove (appropriately named for our family reunion) in July 2016. The house was perfect for our reunion. The house was well - equipped for cooking and relaxing. The bedrooms were ample in size and met all of our needs. One bedroom in particular- the Greenhouse room - was a bit hot. I suggest bringing an extra fan if you are hot natured and stay in this room during the summer. The rest of the rooms had adequate ventilation with the windows open. Being from Texas, I was a bit leery about the house not having AC, but I found out that I needed blankets during the night. One thing we missed when reviewing the house description was that there was not a washer or dryer. Be sure to pack enough clothes or be prepared to go to a laundry mat. (We found it.) Our family took advantage of the wonderful screened - in porch, grill, and back yard. The view from the porch and the house are spectacular. Our family loved to watch the tidal change and the moon rise on the horizon over the water. A few of the cousins went out on the two house kayaks. Be sure to watch the tides and not go out when the tide is low, for you could get caught and have to wait for high tide to return. There were life jackets to fit all sizes. Mark and Alice, the owners, graciously offered to take us on a boat ride as part of our stay. We had a fantastic time and the ride was one of the highlights of our vacation. They gave us a wonderful tour of the area, took us to the puffin colony and gave us insights that only a true native of the area could. We had an avid fisherman in our group who was not catching any fish near the house. Mark, suggested where to fish and then he had success. The cousins had a great time at Cousin’s Cove, Overall, this is a wonderful home for our group of 14. If our family returns to Maine, we would definitely stay at Cousin’s Cove."

  • Terrific house on the water with all the amenities

"From the first glance at the house to the last look back as we were leaving, the house was special. The layout of the house was perfect - large living room, large kitchen (with all the amenities you could think of) - comfortable beds/bedrooms, and bathrooms for everybody. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here - capped off each night with a lobster feast from the North End Lobster Coop. We all had a very nice week staying at this house and hope to be back again !"

  • Lovely digs and sweet people

"Echoing the previous reviews to say that this rental had everything we could have wanted and more for ourselves and our two kids, 5 and 7. Extremely comfortable, peaceful, and well-appointed, in a terrific spot within spitting distance of gorgeous coastline to explore, great meals and cute towns. The little beach, changing tides, rocks and sea creatures were endlessly fascinating for my city kids; my daughter liked to run around the yard shouting "I'm living the dream!" The whole area was very friendly, low-key, and accessible; it was easy to feel at home. Gordon and Sheila were so kind and welcoming, full of great tips for local spots. I would stay here again in an instant and hope we can. Many thanks!"

  • Stunning!

"This house sits on a hill overlooking the water in three directions. The views are just stunning. There's a huge deck, gorgeous formal gardens, a big lawn and all this is a short stroll to a private dock, beach and the water. The weather was perfect for our stay and we ventured out in the kayaks we rented locally. We dined on lobster bought fresh from a dock less than a mile away. The house is lovely, spotlessly clean and incredibly well stocked (and the kitchen is well marked making it easy to find everything). Our group consisted of two families including ages 10 to 65. We can't wait to go back!"
