  • A great taste of Maine

"This home was a wonderful setting for our family gathering of 8 people. We cooked lots of blueberry pancakes in the brand new well stocked kitchen and grilled many dinners outside on the deck. Evenings were spent playing games around the generously sized dining room table. Our 8 and 10 year old grandchildren had fun fishing ( we only caught crabs) from the dock, but really loved Popham Beach State Park, 20 minutes away. The location was a perfect launching point for day trips to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay, LLBean in Freeport and our son's favorite brewery in Portland. Our CA daughter- in- law got her fill of lobster at various local restaurants and we found a Bait and Tackle shop on 209 that had the best homemade pies. It was a wonderful week in a very comfortable home."

  • A wonderful place to kick back, unwind, and enjoy nature in a lovely setting and comfortable cottage

"Biscay Sunsets is the perfect place to recharge one's batteries! We took a few side trips to Pemaquid Point, New Harbor and Christmas Cove, but each time we breathed a sign of relief upon returning to the cottage where we would take a swim and/or settle into the adirondack chairs to enjoy the soft breezes. Swimming, walking, boating, horseshoes, reading, and swinging in the hammock... Can't wait to return!"

  • Excellent Vacation for Family Reunion

"Our family of 9 stayed at Sea Glass Cottage in August 2016. The house is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped since we cooked most of our meals. The location was excellent - close to grocery and activities plus the trolley across the street was wonderful to take downtown for shopping. We loved walking down the street to Boothbay Lobster Wharf to watch the lobster fishermen come in mid-afternoon. Plus the restaurant had the best lobster rolls. Activities enjoyed were Kayak trip for adults and kids, schooner trip, golf at Boothbay Harbor Country Club, and the Puffin Cruise. The Audoban Society Naturalist was fascinating lecturing about birds in the area. I would recommend a vacation at Sea Glass Cottage for all ages. The ages in our group were 82 - 9 and there was something for everyone to enjoy."

  • Beautiful home in a fantastic location

"This house was the perfect size and layout for our large, multi-generational family. In total, we had 9 adults and 2 children ranging from ages 3 to 60. There was enough room in the home for everyone to spread out to have time alone, while the main floor was perfect when we all got together. The kitchen was fabulous for cooking family dinners and we made a lot of use of the expansive deck. All of the little extras provided, from the spice drawer to the game/puzzle collection, to the provided firewood and binoculars made it easy to feel at home from the minute we arrived. The location is very quiet and surrounded by woods with no road traffic, yet still only a few minutes out of town. The sunrise every morning over the river was absolutely beautiful and the campfire pit was perfect for the evenings. Communicating with Sandra was quick and easy and she provided us with some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat in the area which we took advantage of. There are only a couple things I would change about the home to make it even better: 1) The house only has 3 window A/C units. It was a bit tricky figuring out who in our group would be stuck in a bedroom without the A/C. It turned out just fine because we went in late August and the temperature cooled down a lot at night, so the provided box window fans kept the rooms plenty cool. However, if we had gone earlier in the summer without the cooler evenings, the older adults in our group would have had some problems sleeping in the heat. 2) It was a little tricky figuring out how to make use of the canoe since the shoreline is very rocky. On our last day we realized that high tide in the early afternoon was the perfect time to launch the boat. We noticed many other homes on the river had long docks that extend into the water, which would be beneficial for using the canoe even at lower tide. 3) The Queen bedroom on the main floor (the converted office) lacked a bit of privacy due to the glass pocket doors that were only covered with a sheer curtain. My sister-in-law ended up staying comfortably in this room, but an adult couple might want more privacy. Overall, I would highly recommend this home and location for visiting Maine. My family had an awesome time and if we ever come back to the area, this is where we would stay again without hesitation! Thank you Sandra for sharing your home with us!!!"
