  • Great stay!!

"We have stayed at this house before. Peaceful and quiet area, yet close enough to the town of Bar Harbor! We always have enjoyed staying here!"

  • ALL YOU COULD ASK FOR!

"I have stayed here twice now and would gladly return every year if I could. The property itself is delightful with everything you could need for a relaxing, peaceful vacation. Morning coffee on the porch and sunsets whilst kayaking on the lake are just two of the things I find myself thinking about when I'm not there. Camden is a short drive away with restaurants and shops but it's the peace and quiet that lake life provides that you'll appreciate. Perfect!"

  • Lovely cottage, great location!

"My husband and I with our two boys (ages 15 and 13) stayed in this cottage for a week and loved it! None of us wanted to leave! The cottage is very clean, charming, and quaint. It is clear that the owners take pride in their home. We really appreciated their personalized binder (filled with helpful instructions and suggestions) and the many guide books they provided to enhance our vacation. We enjoyed restaurants they recommended, Cafe This Way and The Side Street Cafe, and when we didn't want to head out to eat we found the kitchen to be well-stocked with quality dishes, glassware, and cookware. One of my favorite spots in the cottage was the balcony off of the master bedroom. After a morning of hiking, I always found it to be such a relaxing spot. I almost felt like a kid in a tree house! The cottage is in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are just as friendly and nice as can be. From the cottage, it is just an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Additionally, the cottage is on the southern end of town making it is easy to get to multiple Acadia Park entrances to see some of the best sights the park has to offer (Cadillac Mountain, Great Head Trail, Thunder Hole, etc.). While writing this review, I think it is important to note that this is a very, charming old cottage, but please know that brings some characteristics with it. Not all of the floors are level and the staircase is narrow and not level too. While that only enhanced the charm for us, those with physical limitations might want to be informed ahead of time. We can't wait to return to this cottage and Bar Harbor! For us it truly was a wonderful place to be!"

  • The best vacation we have had in years!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"We rented both the Grand House and the Guest House for our family. The houses were perfect-pine, stone, sunken living room, decks, windows everywhere and views. Even internet service, HBO Etc. But we didn't watch a lot of TV. We swam and sat by a campfire on the shore at night. There are boats and canoes. We climbed Bald Mountain with its spectacular views. But most of all it was so darn relaxing. We did go to the Oxford Casino one night and won $500. That was just a small bonus compared the wonderful family vacation we had in Maine. Thank you for the memories. We are definitely coming back. And our friends are also renting the Guest House in 2016."
