  • Wonderful stay, enjoyed by all the guests.

"We rented Snowbird Lodge for a birthday party. Out of town guests spent the weekend at the lodge and everyone was complimentary about the accommodations. The Lodge was clean and had everything we needed. The owner lives on-site and greeted us when we arrived, made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were comfortable and the mattresses were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the guests were very impressed when they arrived and saw it. There were about 40 guests who lived nearby and came to the Lodge for the party. The Lodge comfortably accommodated everyone, was kid-friendly, and had ample parking for all the cars. The fireplace created a great ambiance and a warm glow in the living room. The large screen tv was great for displaying a slide show of photographs during the party. After the party, the kids watched some of the Lodge's movies while the overnighting adults relaxed. I wouldn't hesitate to rent the lodge again and recommended it to other guests who might be looking for a venue for a large group. We had lunch one day at the near by restaurant The Ruby Slipper and the party food was catered by the Campfire Grille and was excellent. The nearby town of Bridgton and Norway had stores for browsing and for party supplies and shopping. All-in-all the Snowbird Lodge was wonderful."

  • One of the best vacations we've ever taken

"We intended to sit down and write this review for a couple of weeks now but life has gotten in the way. We are ready to jump in our car and head right back up to this great cottage on Highland Lake.. only we can’t because we have commitments at home and we are sure that someone else is already staying there. This is the first time we have stayed in a cottage not belonging to relatives and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We could have literally brought just a couple of changes of clothes, our toiletries and whatever food we wanted and that was it. Tom and Rita have everything you could want or need already in this cottage. The kitchen has every imaginable appliance from big to small. But the nice part is that the cabinets and counter tops were not cluttered. They have plenty of shelves in different rooms to make unpacking and cleaning up easier. The furniture was all very comfortable and clean. There was enough storage space to keep stuff out of sight which was nice because my family tends to clutter rooms up claiming they have nowhere to store things. Not a problem there. We decided to make use of the optional linen service and what a great idea. The beds were already made and plenty of shower towels and beach towels were available. My favorite indoor spot was on the screened porch overlooking the lake. My favorite outdoor spot was early mornings on the dock watching the rowers and listening to the loons or - wait…..maybe it was the hammock hung in the perfect spot for an afternoon snooze or maybe it was the front bedroom where you could fall asleep overlooking the lake. We had several campfires (there was plenty of split wood and kindling) and sat in comfy Adirondack chairs that overlooked the water. It was great to have use of all the water craft, the beach and two more chairs on the dock. We loved the way Rita and Tom checked in on us when we first arrived to be sure we had everything we needed. The town of Bridgeton with its quaint antique shops and boutiques was just a short walk from the cottage which was nice for us because we live at least 8 miles from the nearest store at home. We could go on and on about all of the great features of this cottage and its’ owners but we’re sure it has all been said over and over again by others. Thanks Rita and Tom for a wonderful vacation!"

  • Peaceful and Relaxing

"We rented this beautiful lakefront cottage for a week's stay in August. We found the location to be perfect, secluded and private with excellent views of the lake and of the White Mountains. Access to the private beach was great, and we enjoyed nightly fires with s'mores. The private dock offered great views for morning coffee and afternoon sunshine. We had visits from a few loons each day which was a delight. We found the house to be spacious for our family (3) and it was very clean and well kept. Nice large deck overlooking the lake and a charcoal grill provided for some good dinners. The Bush family owns the adjacent houses/cottages so it was always quiet and relaxing. Overall, we loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful and relaxing week on a lovely Maine lake."

  • Awesome

"Great experience. We enjoyed every minute. Swimming, fishing, enjoying the view - could not have been more perfect! Sitting on the deck and relaxing was what we needed. Cooking hotdogs on a stick and sitting by the fire in the pit, on a cool night, was a family memory we will cherish. Thanks"
