  • Relaxing Paradise part 1

"Clean. Complete Solitude. Exceptional Relaxation. It is impossible to put into the right words just how spectacular the Grand House is. Pictures can't either. The description of the property is as advertised. No surprises. Everything was clean. Everything was in perfect working condition. The pictures were not outdated. Our stay was for one week. We always bring food for a week and eat in, and in fact never left the property until we ran out of coffee on our fifth day. Washing machine worked. Clothes line for drying outside in a sunny area. Large microwave. Stove and oven was gas, not electric. Plenty of pots and pans for all types of cooking. Good counterspace and overall kitchen layout. Glassware for all types of drinks, too. Fridge and freezer large like at home. Table in kitchen sat 4 or the table in the dining room for a more formal dinner. The single floor house was ideal for us. Quiet ceiling fans kept us not feeling the 85-90 degree heat during our week. Nights were cool as expected. We often commented that whoever designed the Grand House must have known what they were doing. The porch was the feature, looking out into the pond. As we entered the house, a sense of "can you believe it" overcame us as we saw the view, realized the privacy and felt the homeyness. The openness of the kitchen invited conversation and comfort. The outdoor deck with grill was not shaded, and provided the perfect place to get a suntan or eat outdoors. The bedrooms were decorated in fitting with the house. The bathroom was all it needed to be as we never came close to running out of hot water and the shower pressure was ideal. Chairs were always comfortable. Lighting was exceptional, especially natural lightening. Even the bathroom had natural lightening. Sliding doors in each bedroom. Outlets in good places for phones, tablets, etc.. The places where we spent our time were designed so the view was always in sight: kitchen, bedroom, and porch. "Open" bar stool area between kitchen and dining / family room made it so it did not seem like separate rooms, but we were together at all times. Wifi worked well, and needed to be unplugged to reset. We never turned on the TV. Cell service (Verizion) was only needed once and worked only on the dock. .. continued .."

  • Very clean, well maintained, beautiful spot on Saturday Pond.

"We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities you'd need. We loved staying up late at the fire pit right on the water, the sunset. Lots of cute things around the house to look at. Shower was great, water very hot and nice shower head. Good wifi and satellite TV. One queen bed very comfortable. All other beds were futon matresses and I find those pretty hard. The owner was very responsive and we had a wonderful weekend visiting this special place."

  • Wonderful week on the lake

"My family could not have had a more peaceful, beautiful week. The weather was perfect, sunny days and cool nights. We spent a lot of time on the huge deck that practically sits on the water. We didn’t do a lot of cooking but the kitchen seemed well stocked. The cabin is very comfortable, the ceiling fans worked great for the hot days. There was more than enough room for the three of us. The owner was very responsive but not intrusive. Highland lake is beautiful. The sandy entrance made for great swimming. The location is perfect. Because it’s at the very end of the road it has the quiet and privacy we wanted but it’s only about a 10 minute drive from the center of town. Bridgton has a movie theater and a drive in. We enjoyed breakfast at Beth’s Kitchen and dinner at the Gastropub. We saw a mother deer and her doe crossing the road in front of the cabin. Unfortunately we didn’t see loons but we did hear them. We all wished we rented for two weeks instead of one. Looking forward to next year."
