  • Great Rental Property

"We had an incredible time on Thompson Lake!! The house was super clean, nothing fancy but had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again. The lake was pristine, kayaks were lots of fun and the dock was great for jumping right into the lake! The house is situated so that there is a small cove which was great for my 11 year old to learn how to navigate the kayaks and by the end of the week he went out with my husband for about an hour just cruising around the lake. We rented a boat for 2 days from the local marina and went water tubing...such a blast. I would definitely recommend this house for a vacation in Maine!"

  • Nice property, amazing location

"We had an overall fantastic stay. Because my husband and I have a 2 year old, we took the downstairs section which was more like the master area. There was also a sliding door in the downstairs area which made it easier to bring our dog in as well and take him for early morning walks so as not to wake the rest of the family upstairs. It is a very dog friendly area, as long as keep your dog leashed (it seemed as if everyone brought their dog). The window unit AC kept the place cool, for the most part. The downstairs was very hot though. Our 15 year old son took the room with no TV, which was fine for him as he uses his phone to watch videos anyways. His room had a framed bed, fan, and dresser and he had zero complaints! My sister and her fiancé took the room next to his which was a mirror opposite, except that it did have another small TV with basic cable. However, their bed did not have a frame and it was not as sturdy. The upstairs rooms are very small. We only had a few small problems during our stay. These problems are not to be held against Pat, as they were out of his control, and he did try to make good on them. Even though Pat was away on his own vacation this week, he made sure he was available to us the entire time. We had no WIFI the entire time we were there, which did affect our cell phone bills. Once we realized the WIFI issue, a few hours after our arrival, we contacted him and he contacted the property management and asked them to reset the WIFI. We are unsure if they ever did because nothing ever worked. Also, if you have small children that require baths, not showers, you will want to bring a portable/inflatable tub, as the showers are not baby/toddler friendly. The upstairs bathroom is tight quartered, which was fine for my 15 year old, but my sister and her fiancé definitely had to use our bathroom. The location of the property was perfect. There is a nearby bridge just outside the drive that you will find a nightly crowd at watching the sunset. There is so much to do around the area. We were busy every day. Overall, we had an amazing week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We decided before we left that we will be returning again next summer and that this may bet he place we do our annual summer vacation."

  • Wonderful, relaxing vacation in lakefront cottage

"We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation in this beautiful, cozy lakefront cottage. The owner Sheila was wonderful to work with, very responsive and accommodating. The house itself was very clean and well-furnished - it is clear that the house is loved and well-cared for. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen well-equipped with modern appliances, cozy living room, convenient washer and dryer. One of the things that was most impressive was the considerateness and meticulous attention to detail by the owners to ensure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including a welcome basket. Some of the highlights included the incredible view of the lake from the deck, drinking coffee and enjoying meals on the deck, making smores over the firepit and sitting around the fire, kayaking and canoeing on Coffee Pond, the children’s playroom in the basement which was well-stocked with toys and games. The house was conveniently located for different activities, including the Maine Wildlife Park, beaches, hiking, grocery stores. We also took a day trip to Old Orchard Beach. This house was a true gem and we look forward to returning again in the future."
