  • Nice property, amazing location

"We had an overall fantastic stay. Because my husband and I have a 2 year old, we took the downstairs section which was more like the master area. There was also a sliding door in the downstairs area which made it easier to bring our dog in as well and take him for early morning walks so as not to wake the rest of the family upstairs. It is a very dog friendly area, as long as keep your dog leashed (it seemed as if everyone brought their dog). The window unit AC kept the place cool, for the most part. The downstairs was very hot though. Our 15 year old son took the room with no TV, which was fine for him as he uses his phone to watch videos anyways. His room had a framed bed, fan, and dresser and he had zero complaints! My sister and her fiancé took the room next to his which was a mirror opposite, except that it did have another small TV with basic cable. However, their bed did not have a frame and it was not as sturdy. The upstairs rooms are very small. We only had a few small problems during our stay. These problems are not to be held against Pat, as they were out of his control, and he did try to make good on them. Even though Pat was away on his own vacation this week, he made sure he was available to us the entire time. We had no WIFI the entire time we were there, which did affect our cell phone bills. Once we realized the WIFI issue, a few hours after our arrival, we contacted him and he contacted the property management and asked them to reset the WIFI. We are unsure if they ever did because nothing ever worked. Also, if you have small children that require baths, not showers, you will want to bring a portable/inflatable tub, as the showers are not baby/toddler friendly. The upstairs bathroom is tight quartered, which was fine for my 15 year old, but my sister and her fiancé definitely had to use our bathroom. The location of the property was perfect. There is a nearby bridge just outside the drive that you will find a nightly crowd at watching the sunset. There is so much to do around the area. We were busy every day. Overall, we had an amazing week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We decided before we left that we will be returning again next summer and that this may bet he place we do our annual summer vacation."

  • Great Stay in a Beautuful, Well-Maintained Home

"Birchwinds was everything the owners said it was. It was a pleasure to walk into a clean and attractive environment that provided everything needed for a comfortable vacation week for a family of six. Guidelines for occupancy a/k/a Rules of the House were very helpful. Owners made themselves readily available in the event they were needed for problem-solving, but there were none. The house is beautiful with so many attractive features that added to our pleasure. Lake access and the lake deck and dock were teriffic. We have rented other homes in the Naples-Bridgton area for many years, some of which were rentals only and some also periodically occupied by the owners. Birchwinds beats them all. It is perfect for a family of six, but any additional people would be a bit tight given that the house has 1 1/2 baths with one shower. Six or fewer? This place is for you! If we are six people next year instead of our usual twelve, we will certainly be back if Birchwinds is available. Thank you, Weissmans!"

  • Perfect Fall Family Retreat!

"My three adult children, one significant other, two dogs and I spent a wonderful five days at this home in Maine in October. The house was spacious and comfortable and the grounds, leading down an incline to Mussel Cove, were beautiful. It was a bit too chilly to go out in the kayaks provided, but we still enjoyed sitting on the rocks and admiring the view. This property is only minutes from several beautiful hikes along the coast and a mere 10 minutes to downtown Portland where we enjoyed dining and shopping. If available next year, this might become an annual family event!"
