"Wow! We stayed at the Greenwood home (Family Ski and Lake Retreat) over Christmas week and had a wonderful time. The home is warm, cozy and inviting. Thank you, Nadine for the Presecco and salted carmels...what a pleasant welcoming surprise! It was so nice to gather around the lovely fireplace and watch the snow fall from the large picture windows mid week. The driveway was cleared for us and we had no difficulty getting in/out. If we had any requests, Nadine was always available and gracious. There was more than enough room for our friends and family. The kids all shared rooms and had fun together. Even though there wasn't much snow, we were still able to go to Sunday River to hike, and use the zip line. The covered bridge was very picturesque and we hiked the trail along the stream. We ended our stay with a horse-drawn wagon ride at Bethel inn. We highly recommend this home for your vacation needs."

  • Look No Further!

"We rented this house the first week of August 2016. The owners, Alice & Eli, were a pleasure to work with and quickly answered all of our questions. Alice was waiting for us at the house the first day and gave us the tour and highlights of things we should know. The house is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the large screened porch, the well-designed kitchen and the huge walk-in shower. This house has lots of charm and character and seems much more like someone’s year-round residence than a vacation rental. There are beautiful antiques, shelves overflowing with books and everything needed for a comfortable vacation week. There’s no Wi-Fi but we had good coverage through our Verizon phones. We spent many hours kayaking on Bryant Pond (AKA Lake Christopher). The lake is assessable by a steep natural path to a set of docks. There’s no beach but there is a ladder that made getting out of our kayaks relatively easy. The lake is fairly large and there were limited power boats and no jet skis on the lake while we were there. The house is a very short distance off a main road with a great convenience store (plus ice cream and delicious pizza) moments away. We’ve vacationed in this area many times over the past years and enjoy the location for its proximity to the North Conway NH area and the availability of ‘civilization’ in the nearby towns of Oxford, Norway, Paris and Bethel. (Be sure to visit the Hungry Hollow Country Store on your way or on one of your tips out! Also check out Brian’s Bistro in Rumford.) You should know that there is an active rail line across the street from the house. A single freight train comes through each weeknight between 10 and 11. We enjoyed the sights and sounds as it came and went out each night to watch it pass by. You should also know that there is a house next door that rents to groups of up to 24 people. We had the ‘neighbors from hell’ during our week that put a serious damper on the quality of our vacation. Eli noted that issues from there are rare. Your results should vary. Overall excellent!"

  • Relaxing Paradise part 1

"Clean. Complete Solitude. Exceptional Relaxation. It is impossible to put into the right words just how spectacular the Grand House is. Pictures can't either. The description of the property is as advertised. No surprises. Everything was clean. Everything was in perfect working condition. The pictures were not outdated. Our stay was for one week. We always bring food for a week and eat in, and in fact never left the property until we ran out of coffee on our fifth day. Washing machine worked. Clothes line for drying outside in a sunny area. Large microwave. Stove and oven was gas, not electric. Plenty of pots and pans for all types of cooking. Good counterspace and overall kitchen layout. Glassware for all types of drinks, too. Fridge and freezer large like at home. Table in kitchen sat 4 or the table in the dining room for a more formal dinner. The single floor house was ideal for us. Quiet ceiling fans kept us not feeling the 85-90 degree heat during our week. Nights were cool as expected. We often commented that whoever designed the Grand House must have known what they were doing. The porch was the feature, looking out into the pond. As we entered the house, a sense of "can you believe it" overcame us as we saw the view, realized the privacy and felt the homeyness. The openness of the kitchen invited conversation and comfort. The outdoor deck with grill was not shaded, and provided the perfect place to get a suntan or eat outdoors. The bedrooms were decorated in fitting with the house. The bathroom was all it needed to be as we never came close to running out of hot water and the shower pressure was ideal. Chairs were always comfortable. Lighting was exceptional, especially natural lightening. Even the bathroom had natural lightening. Sliding doors in each bedroom. Outlets in good places for phones, tablets, etc.. The places where we spent our time were designed so the view was always in sight: kitchen, bedroom, and porch. "Open" bar stool area between kitchen and dining / family room made it so it did not seem like separate rooms, but we were together at all times. Wifi worked well, and needed to be unplugged to reset. We never turned on the TV. Cell service (Verizion) was only needed once and worked only on the dock. .. continued .."
