  • Perfect spot for a family vacation away from it all!

"Our family of four (five, if you count the dog) loved our week at this cottage. The home is very clean, comfortable and well equipped, including a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and a/c. The spacious living room with cable TV and DVD player was especially welcome on our one rainy day. Most days were spent down at the beach where the kids swam in the clear, warm water and the dog ran around with the neighbors dog for hours. My husband caught several good size bass while I caught up on my reading. We definitely want to go back to Peaceful Pines!"

  • Best house on the lake

"We spent a week at the end of August at this beautiful home. It is everything that it is advertised to be and MORE! My husband totally enjoyed the gourmet cookware, I enjoyed the kayak's and the swimming, and we both enjoyed the fact that we could bring our Golden Retriever! Thank you to Becky and Warren for being so kind and generous. Becky sent me lots of information on activities in the area, but we hardly ever left the house and the lake! Maybe next time ...Sincerely S&B"

  • Cheryl M.

"This was our second year at the cottage. Although the traffic was horrendous getting to Maine, the minute I pulled in and smelled the pine trees I knew it was worth the travel. The lake is crystal clear, warm enough for swimming and the location quiet and private. I love it and hopefully will be back again next year to continue to share and enjoy with my family. Wild blueberries an added bonus. Joanne is friendly and prompt returning security. I would recommend better lighting in MBR and LR for those of us who like to read."

  • Wonderful home; Wonderful Location

"Sheila and Steve's home on Thompson Lake is wonderful. It is well equipped (linen, kitchen items, and other supplies) and can even accommodate a large family with young children on a rainy day (foosball, ping pong, board games, a extensive DVD library, and a hot tub)! The children love the bunk room which, as do two bedrooms for adults, has a great view of the lake. Lake access is suitable for youngsters, swimmers, and boaters. The home comes with a canoe and two kayaks which are great for exploring the lake. Shopping is a short drive. Thompson Lake is large (11 miles long) and deep (120 feet at deepest). There is little boat traffic. The water is clear. We know central Maine lakes, and we can attest that Thompson Lake is the finest. The home is quiet. It is located on the second of two islands connected to the mainland by two causeways."
