  • A great taste of Maine

"This home was a wonderful setting for our family gathering of 8 people. We cooked lots of blueberry pancakes in the brand new well stocked kitchen and grilled many dinners outside on the deck. Evenings were spent playing games around the generously sized dining room table. Our 8 and 10 year old grandchildren had fun fishing ( we only caught crabs) from the dock, but really loved Popham Beach State Park, 20 minutes away. The location was a perfect launching point for day trips to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay, LLBean in Freeport and our son's favorite brewery in Portland. Our CA daughter- in- law got her fill of lobster at various local restaurants and we found a Bait and Tackle shop on 209 that had the best homemade pies. It was a wonderful week in a very comfortable home."

  • Lovely house, convenient location

"We had a great stay at the Lobsterman's Catch. The house felt roomy for our family of five plus pug. It was immaculate and comfortable, with a huge, well-stocked kitchen and dining room. The porch was a great spot to hang out and eat dinner. It was nice that there were gates to keep our pug on the porch. Every morning I would walk down to the little cove or across the street to Houghton Graves Park, a beautiful inlet. At high tide we swam at the cove or at the park on a tiny, rocky beach. During the day we kayaked with rentals from H2Outfitters, hiked at Giant Steps and Devil's Back, visited Freeport, and ate at Cook's (twice), Giant Steps Seafood Grill (great pancakes!), and had a picnic one day. We also got lobsters already cooked and ate them on the porch. We tried to eat at Dolphin Marina but there was a 2 hour wait! We'll try to make a reservation next time. Isis was very friendly and helpful! My only comment is that there actually isn't a waterfront view, as I was expecting. The cove is only 100 yards or so away, but there are two little streets and a row of huge trees in between the house and the water. So even though we could hear and smell the ocean, you can't actually see it. The house is described as ocean front, but that's a bit of a stretch."

  • Prime location for exploring this part of the Maine coast.

"We enjoyed the recently constructed property. Clean, spacious, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture; just a great property. The location is midway down the peninsula so it's easy to go shopping at Shaws, close to the lower islands, and local seafood is very close. Kayaks were easy to launch and retrieve. The outdoor shower is nice after a dive off the float. I could go on and on but you get the idea. If this part of Maine is where you want to be I doubt you'll find a better spot for the money."

  • Peaceful

"This property was very peaceful. We came to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet. I recommend going to Watsons general store and picking out your lobsters. It's not as intimidating as it seems to cook lobsters. If you are looking for a grocery store, Shaws was very nice. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is the cost of 25.00 to rent sheets and towels. I know you have to wash towels, sheets etc...but, for 25.00 it would have been nice to have more than 1 towel each for 4 nights. Otherwise it was very nice"
