  • Beyond expectations!

"My family (4 adults, 3 young children, and dog) booked a last minute trip here over July 4th weekend. From the moment we stepped foot on the island we were wishing that we would never have to leave. True serenity but with so much to do, beaches, the amazing fort, golf carts to get around in, water taxi to Portland or Peaks, and a gorgeous view from every room in the lovely home and every spot on the island. A huge perk to our long weekend was Gene, owner of the water taxi service. He answered to our every need and went above and beyond. He got us fresh lobster and scallops, ferried us to wherever we wanted to go, and indulged our little ones. We truly made memories at House Island and would not hesitate to stay here again!"

  • Great location. Very tastefully decorated

"The house is an easy walk from the ferry and to the Inn. It sits directly across from two tennis courts and a nine hole golf course with views of the water from every hole. The closest beach is a five minute bike ride as is the market. The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. We slept five easily. There is also a bunk house with a mini ping pong table and a fire pit out front with a view of the water. For longer stays I would suggest bringing a car and/or some good bikes. Great family vacation spot"

  • Wonderful secluded cottage for the perfect Maine getaway

"My wife & I stayed for a long weekend and we truly wish we could have stayed forever. The cottage itself is perfectly appointed with all new appliances (the cottage itself seems newly built) and a great wrap around deck to enjoy the beautiful views of the bay. Everything was very clean and neat. Plenty of firewood was provided, so we had a bonfire by the water, underneath the stars, which was sublime. The listings description is 100% accurate. There were no surprises! The location is very private and secluded, yet the Georgetown Country Store is just 5 minutes away if you need anything immediate and both Bath and Brunswick are also just a short trip away for great shopping and restaurants. Reid State Park is only 10 minutes away and a free park pass is provided to you. The cottage is the perfect blend of being within arms reach of great cities, yet still having that "middle of nowhere" getaway experience. We truly can't wait to come back in the Summer! Thank you to Tom & Jaana for sharing their place to us."

  • Awesome!

"My sisters and I visited Portland for a long weekend at the end of the summer. Steph met us at CumbyHouse , helped us with our luggage and essentials(wine lol). We arrived to a beautiful view on top of the hill. Stephanie's home was immaculate, comfortable and located in the perfect place in Portland. I hope we can return to Maine and CumbyHousefor another great visit! Thanks!"
