"My daughter was married on Peaks Island, and we needed to find a place to stay. A great many family members, from both sides, traveled to Peaks for the wedding, most finding places near the pier (ferry). How lucky we were to find this property.
The moment we opened the door, we felt like someone special had handed us a key to their private, cozy house in the woods. Surrounded by trees, with its wonderful old wooden porch, this house was inviting. The living room boasted a couch (pull-out), a wall television (only a few stations; more than enough for us), bookcase filled with books, chairs, coffee table with magazines, board games, puzzles, metal detectors, I could go on.....There is a cozy fireplace, easy to light, and provides more than enough heat if needed. The dining room included a table w/chairs, a chest of drawers (with kitchen towels and other items you might need) and the stairs going up to the loft. The colors were bright, the wood floor polished, and the lighting fixtures reminding you, this is on an island. The kitchen, fully furnished (no microwave, but who needs it) with a gas stove, had everything we needed. There is a small bathroom, complete with shower off the kitchen. Upstairs, again, that warm feeling and wonderfully decorated was the queen bed, large chest of drawers, another pullout couch, and chair. We slept soundly and comfortably. We didn't use the outside area, (bikes included), as we were busy with the wedding, but we felt like home returning to our little house in the woods.
I want to make mention of the Internet. We stayed at a hotel in Portland prior to coming across to the island, and it was awful; kicking us off randomly. The Internet at this property, The Snuggle Inn, was stellar!
I would not hesitate to refer others to stay here. In fact, many family members came out to see where we were staying and were pleasantly surprised. This property is exactly how it is described. The owner anticipates your needs, and provides you with sheets and towels, as well as other items. You are minutes away from the ocean, minutes away from the town center, and hours away from noise and distractions! We loved it. It's name, "Snuggle Inn" is appropriate. The owner was quick to respond from the moment we contacted her to rent this property. The little vase of wild flowers was a warm welcome. Thank You!!!!"
