  • Better than a hotel and prefect location

"This home is prefect for anyone traveling to the Portland area who wants to enjoy the city of Portland, a beach that feels like it's your own (the beach is less than a 2 minute walk) and the lovely Cape Elizabeth area. Diana has done a wonderful job with the home and as a family that enjoys a good night sleep the beds and linens were fantastic! Also, great options for dining out near the home if you don't feel like traveling into Portland!"

  • Perfectly quaint South Portland cottage!

"My family and I just returned from a marvelous week in South Portland and loved calling Marilys' cottage "home". We were welcomed by Marilys (and her delicious, chocolate, mini-muffins) who showed us around her beautiful home. It was a perfect fit for our family - my husband, our three children and my parents. The kitchen is new and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and the dining room and living room are comfortable and inviting. The gas fireplace offered a nice touch on the cool evenings, too. My kids loved the claw foot tub in the upstairs bathroom and the shower was also roomy and refreshing. Each of the bedrooms were well decorated and inviting - two king rooms that fit my husband and me and my parents perfectly and the smaller room that my kids shared with a full and single bed. We all agreed that the beds and bedding were the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We were extremely lucky that the weather was on our side and we were able to visit the beach up the street with our kids and our dog. Marilys provided us with numerous restaurant recommendations in South Portland and Portland and all were wonderful. We had the best time and will definitely return."

  • Beautiful home in a great area

"We really enjoyed our week in Portland. The home was perfect and it was in a great location. We walked everywhere in town. Homeowners provided a great list of places to eat and all were great. We loved spending time inside and outside of the home. Beautiful yard. We would stay in this house again for sure and we definitely need more time in Portland. Thank you, Sean and Desi."

  • A wonderful house for a family vacation

"We rented this beautiful home for a week's family vacation. We were a party of three adults and three young children (aged 1 - 8). The house itself is lovely: a great deal of thought and care has been put into the design and the furnishings. The location is perfect. The views of the bay are stunning and there's plenty to explore nearby. It was great to have use of the bikes. We brought the kids' bikes with us and we were very pleased we did as there are plenty of places for the kids to explore and it's an easy ride to the beach by the bridge. Highlights of our trip included a day trip to Chebeague Island for 9 holes of golf and a family bike ride, a visit to Portland and endless crabbing on nearby Littlejohn Island. We also enjoyed spending time on the beautiful property: stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, croquet and exploring the woods kept us all well-entertained. The scenery in this part of Maine is stunning and this house is the perfect base from which to explore. Tamson is a great host. She's responsive, attentive and welcoming - but in no way intrusive. We look forward to returning."
