  • Exactly what our family needed!

"Our family of four (plus our dog) stayed here for the first week of July 2016. It was a perfect break for our middle schooler and high schooler just after school let out in NYC. The cabin was just as it is described and pictured - rustic and comfortable. The property is spectacular! We explored both rivers in the kayak and canoe. We paddled, fished, swam and hiked every day. The fire pit is situated perfectly and allowed us to cook dinner over the open fire every night. We could not have had better weather - 80s every day and 50s every night. The dark sky allowed for excellent star-gazing, too. We took quick day trips to Mt Washington, the Maine coast and some amazing antique stores nearby. There are plenty of things to do all around, but the property itself was the real highlight for our whole family. We would definitely choose to stay here again!"

  • Perfect amount of room for a family of 5.

"This was our first time staying in Summer Village. My family of 5 ( 2 adults, 3 kids ages 11, and 6 year old twins ) absolutely loved this cottage! It was very clean and decorated in nice warm colors. We did not expect them to have it stocked with a lot of supplies, (i.e. dish soap, hand soap laundry det. toilet paper....) it was very nice to find. Cindy was always very prompt in getting back to me with any questions. We had a little trouble with the washer, but she sent someone over that day and it all worked out. Plenty of glasses and dishes, and especially some plastic cups if you have younger kids. The WiFi was great to have also. The pools where the kids favorite! We found that the family pool at the front of the resort was the least crowded. ....We did have a couple little snags that have nothing to do with the cottage itself. The " Game Room " at the barn which was somewhere we retreated to one rainy day, we found most of the games did not work. Nor did the TV, or Wii, or the pool tables....We did ask the attendant at the desk , but she said she knew nothing about electronics, and we should find some "young person to help us out." The only other thing was their is a pretty large mosquito population. We would get eaten alive whenever we went outside. Probably due to being surrounded by vegetation. Nothing the Cottage owner can do about that, but we did find a can of "OFF" in the bathroom cabinet which we where very grateful for. Overall the cottage was great and Palmer's where fantastic to deal with. Thank you Cindy!"

  • Maine beauty

"This was our second stay at Tatnic House and we were fortunate to have amazing weather, plenty of beach time and a quiet, comfortable house to return to after our adventures. The location is great - a short drive to the busy Post Road where you will find restaurants, shops, etc. The house was super clean and the kitchen well appointed. Beautiful front garden and I can't get enough of those weathered shingles! Thank you, Tatnic House for another great vacation."
