  • Cottage 417/Summer Village is a gem!

"This was our first time staying at Summer Village (but have been going to Wells every year since 1993), and we were very impressed as to how comfortable, CLEAN, and well stocked the cottage was. All hotels/motels/cottages in the Wells area are clean as I have noticed throughout the years, but this one was exceptional. Also, the layout of the cottage was comfortable, and if you have older children, there is some privacy. The cottage was well stocked with everything imaginable (dishes, pots/pans, platters, etc) so all you have to bring are your sheets, towels, etc. One of the things we liked most about Summer Village was that it felt like a combination of Southern and Northern Maine. It is tree lined with many forest areas which makes the property not only attractive, but also cool. There is plenty of room to park two cars next to the cottage and there are sensor lights that go on when you need them in the evening. There are small trees in front of each cottage which shade the cottages but also provides a shady place to sit and read a book. The check in process was easy and the employees were very friendly as were the other renters/owners. There are children of all ages on the property but that doesn't mean it isn't quiet. It is surprisingly quiet. There are three terrific pools and many activities available on the property. For those of you familiar with the Wells area, you know that there are many great restaurants nearby and Wells beach is a little more than one mile away. We stayed in this cabin for one week and enjoyed every minute of it!"

  • Pretty, comfortable, clean + excellent location

"My family had such a wonderful stay here. The house is in a perfect, quiet location -- set back from the street and less than a 10-min walk to the heart of town, and about a 15-min walk to the beach and Perkins Cove. The cute property has lovely gardens that attract lots of hummingbirds, which we really enjoyed while having our coffee and breakfast daily in the screened-in porch. The house is VERY clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen has all of the utensils, dishware, and cookware you need to prepare meals, as well as some pantry staples like seasonings. The ceiling fans work very well, but at night you probably won't even need them. Just open the windows and enjoy the cool Maine breeze. We loved our time here and hope to return someday."

  • Great Beach House

"My wife and two teenage daughters had a delightful week staying here. The home is quite clean and the photos shown do a very good job of accurately giving you a sense of what the property looks like. Very large master bedroom overlooking the ocean and a second bedroom with two twin beds make this a perfect set up for a small family. The location is really the major draw here, step off the back deck and you are a few steps from a fantastic sandy beach that stretches for miles. If the kids get tired of the beach, there are lots of options near by; amusement parks, minature golf, zip lining & ropes. The fantastic restaurants of Portland are also easily accessible by short drive. Property owner was very responsive and easy to do business with. I would expect to be returning with the family again in the future and would not hesitate for a moment to recommend the property to friends."

  • The most AMAZING house I have ever rented!

"Where to begin? Everything about the Stonehouse is beyond amazing! As beautiful as the photos are they pale in comparison to the actual experience of being there in person. The setting is just perfection - if you want to be on the water... you are ON the water! We loved the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks or even during the calmer tides, the sound of the water lapping against the shore. You are surrounded by the ocean and the views cannot be beat! The sunsets are just insane and you have so many places to sit and enjoy them. The house itself is truly the nicest house i have ever rented - the architecture is magnificent and the interior design is not only impeccable but incredibly warm and inviting. We never felt like we couldn't relax or sit on a sofa because it was too precious. Ashley has done an amazing job of balancing high end design with welcoming ease and comfort. The house has EVERYTHING you could want or need and if you are someone who likes to cook like we are, the kitchen is nirvana! We stayed for a week and still didn't get to use all the rooms or spaces as much as we would have liked. It was so hard leaving but such an incredible family memory for us - one that we will have forever - thank you Ashley! And speaking of Ashley, she is so wonderful and easy to work with!! She really made our trip so special with all her thoughtful touches! If you ever have the chance to stay here, RUN don't walk to the Stonehouse - it will be the best spot for a vacation you could ever ask for!! We'll be back!!!!!"
