  • LOVED IT!

"We were an extended family group of nine, including two children ages 9 and 6. The two houses were well equipped and accommodated us quite well and the combination of the pool and the nearby beach was everything we hoped for. You really can't beat a seaside walk in the morning followed by a dip in the pool and then a full beach day after that. Not to mention great attractions nearby such as rare book store in Wells and Rachel Carson wildlife sanctuary. Appliances were all good, everything worked, and the beauty of the surroundings and the quiet were all very pleasing. We were charmed by the area and especially liked the sea roses everywhere near the water. We have great photographs. Helen the owner was most helpful and we appreciated her input. She even left bug spray for us on the front porch! It was a memorable vacation for all of us and we definitely plan to return!"

  • Perfect Location and Beautifully Decorated Home in Kennebunk Beach!

"For those who think they must have a beachfront house, not true in Kennebunk Beach where the main road runs right behind or in front of the beachfront houses. This home is one block from the beach, with a huge yard and beautifully landscaped! For a family with children the situation is ideal, but even for all adults, it provides a more quiet location when one of the main reasons to visit is to leave your windows open to enjoy the cool breezes. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. Because the owner lived here with her family for 12 years, the house is furnished and decorated as someone would for their own home. Martha Stewart would approve! Many of the homes in the area for rent, because they are older and primarily summer vacation homes, are much more sparse in their furnishings and decorations. Here everything you need is available in the house, from beach towels and chairs, to sand toys and lincoln logs for the tots, a new Weber grill, a well appointed kitchen with Wolf appliances, and a beautiful dining room as well as a great table on the porch for outdoor dining which you must take advantage of. The owner was easy to work with and went out of her way to make sure everything during our stay went perfectly, from finding babysitters to giving us the name of a great local company to rent cribs, booster chairs and pay n plays from. We will definitely be back!"

  • Great comfortable value, prime location

"My family of two adults and two kids, ages 4 and 6, stayed here for a long weekend to attend a friend's wedding in Kennebunkport. The cottage was just as advertised, and there is also a great kids' play area - sand pit and play structure, as well as basketball hoop - in the central area. There is also a picnic table out back by the stream that we ate most meals at; breakfasts though were out front in the adirondacks in the bright sun. The location was excellent, with Parsons beach just down the road - like others, we drove instead of walked simply because we had kids (and when we were there, parking was fine) but the walk looked quite reasonable and goes along a very pretty tree-lined street alongside a horse farm. Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are very close indeed, and this was the best price we found for this area and had everything we needed. What was not clear from the property description and pics is that this is part of a group of vacation rental cottages - most now individually owned as condos, but still rented via a central house/office. That meant that - although less private - when we faced an issue - from needing an iron, to facing a clogged toilet (and no plunger) - there was on-site help available. It also meant the great play area was there for the kids to delight in. The road noise from Route 9 can be appreciable - the cottages are really right next to the road - but there's also a sweet stream out back and the frogs' chorus was beautiful, as was the morning birdsong. The kitchen is small but it's a cottage so that goes with the territory - and the nearby towns have an *abundance* of restaurants to complement your home cooking. All in all, great value, comfortable beds, great location. We would come here again."

  • Captain Chadbourne House Kennebunk Maine USA

"A comfortable stay, in an interesting period property and a pretty New England town. Warren and Jane were welcoming hosts and the breakfasts were excellent and varied."
