  • Unplug in beautiful surroundings

"We had a restful time unplugging in beautiful Stonington, ME with our two young children at the Greanhead Forge. Wilda was super friendly and helpful. The Forge is conveniently located near Brooklin, ME and Acadia National Park. We could easily walk to town, enjoyed "Mini Village," the Penobscot Bay Resource Center touch tank and informative staff, and felt like locals at Harbor Cafe. It's a quick drive over to Sand Beach and Burnt Cove Market. The Master bedroom's corner windows give a breath-taking view of the stars at night. Beautiful. We highly recommend taking a private guided tour with Walter Reed on The Gael--we learned about the lobster business and saw bald eagles, harbor seals and much more. One of the highlights from our trip."

  • Amazing views and great location.

"We had a great time at this condo in Perkins Cove. The condo offers a great location to walk over to Perkins Cove, and go on the Marginal Walkway (amazing to walk or jog on), the restaurants and shops, as well as take the trolley up the hill to the downtown area. The owner had beach chairs which was a nice perk, and we really enjoyed walking to a few of the beaches (1/2 mile) on the Marginal Walkway, which with the low tide were a great option compared to the other main beach which is a bit more crowded. The views from the bedroom can't be overstated, it is really amazing and we enjoyed coffee in the recliners there each morning with the windows open, as well as a cocktail on the front porch in the evening. Great place, we loved it!"

  • Fell in love with Benson Farm six years ago and keep going back!

"We’ve been going to the Benson Farm for the month of August for the past six years – we went on a whim the first year, fell in love with the place and keep going back. Actually, not only did we fall in love but so has our extended family (grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins) who never miss a chance to come visit us while we are there! You could not ask for a more idyllic corner of the world to relax and enjoy your summer days. The house sits on an expansive property on a small peninsula so you enjoy views of the water from both the East and the West. You wake up in the upstairs bedrooms to the sun rising over the water and you watch the sun set over the Camden Hills on the other side in the evening. We spend most of our time outside – whether playing on the tennis court, jumping into the water off the dock, walking on the beach, biking around the island, playing ping pong or board games in the barn, playing all sorts of sports on the front lawn, or just sitting in the grass or on the porch and enjoying the sun and the beautiful views. Our three children (who are now 13, 11 and 8) love the freedom of being able to bike the three miles to the grocery store and playground/basketball court or the six miles to town to get ice cream or look around the gift shop – it’s a very kid-friendly place. The house is large and there is room for a number of people to stay so it’s a great place for families to get together. We eat, talk, laugh and relax. In fact, from the moment the ferry leaves Rockland to cross over Penobscot Bay to North Haven, you feel the stress melting away. I actually took pictures of various views from the house and put them in my office to try to maintain my North Haven summer zen throughout the year! It’s really a gorgeous spot!"
