  • Relaxation and convenience

"I rented this property for my son and wife while visiting MD. They enjoyed it. I was not aware it did not have a stove, but neither do hotels, and there are many options for restaurants just minutes away. Nestled in the woods, nice cozy fire place, very clean, safe and close to many attractions. The owners were very friendly and hospitable offering Tea, Coffee and breakfast foods. I would definitely visit again and recommend it to my friends and family. Thank You;)"

  • Great location near the National Mall

"The Positives: The unit was as advertised in the posting. It is in a great building and the unit (on the eighth floor) had a great view of the top of the Washington Monument. You are only five easy walking blocks to the Washington Mall and then only a few blocks to the Capitol Building. In the opposite direction (3 blocks) from the unit is the subway green line and a Safeway store (with a Starbucks). Very convenient. Also in that area is a good restaurant called the 4th Street Grill. Good Happy Hour and good food. We just ate in the bar but it has a nice restaurant there too. The host was very hospitable and responded quickly to any requests. She was very accommodating to our early arrival and allowed us to check in quite early on the first day. The process to check in was fairly easy. The wifi worked well. The kitchen was equipped very well even though we did not do any cooking while we were there. The Negatives: There is really only one negative and not sure the host can do anything about it. The air conditioner is so loud it is like a 747 taking off in your living room. When it comes on be prepared to turn up the TV volume to its highest level."

  • Excellent Family Gathering Place!

"We attended a family wedding in the area, and this was a perfect place for our family. Yes, you can get a hotel closer to Old Town and/or the Mall, but being able to gather as a family in one place, play games, lounge around in our PJs, laugh, prepare meals (and avoid going out to eat), and just enjoy each other ... it was perfect! It's about 1/2 mi from the Huntington Metro station. That's walkable, but if you've been walking all day, having to walk another 1/2 mi would not be my first choice, but it is walkable, if necessary. Lugging suitcases to/from the Metro would also not be advisable. I think there's a bus that runs about a block away, but we didn't bother finding out anything about the bus schedule. We had one rental car and were able to easily shuttle groups to/from the Metro. This line also runs past Reagan National, so shuttling travelers to/from the airport via the Metro was so much easier than fighting the traffic. The house had everything we needed. We even invited some of the "out-of-town" wedding guests over for a morning brunch, and we were able to accommodate everyone since there were plenty of couches, chairs, dishes, flatware, etc. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms worked out very well. And having the washer/dryer available was wonderful. The host was very responsive and even offered some helpful info related to traffic, etc. If we ever go back to DC and have a gaggle of folks wanting to spend some quality time together, we will definitely book this place ... a home away from home!"
