  • Lovely autumn escape

"We were looking for the right place to stay during the Ironman Triathlon and this was it. Our nephew was doing his first Ironman and was able to do training here and relax in preparation for the big day. It is minutes from St. Michaels and an easy 30 minute drive to Cambridge for the triathlon. The property is spacious and affords lots of privacy. Our stay was too short to take full advantage of the facilities... bikes, canoes, etc. But we had time to lounge by the pool (a little cold for swimming on this day) while appreciating the sunset and watching the geese in Barretts Cove. The house was comfortable and large so everyone had his own space. The kitchen had everything we needed except maybe a blender. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well lighted. Even though the nights were unseasonably cold, the house was warm and comfortable. The owners were helpful and friendly. It was clear that they care deeply about the property and hope to make each visit memorable for their guests. This is the perfect place for small family reunions and weekend social events for friends."

  • Awesome historical cottage stay!

"We had a great visit to the Thomas Blade cottage. The home is maintained in authentic historical condition. The owner has remodeled the home to include a modern kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms upstairs. The home is comfortable with A/C and a nice, screened porch. The porch is very relaxing and has a fan for warm days - a great place to hang out. We were able to walk everywhere or ride our bikes. The home actually came with two bikes, but we used our own. We had a nice, relaxing and enjoyable visit. One day was the brewfest and while it was nearby, it wasn't noisy or disruptive. Thanks to the owners for maintaining such a nice, comfortable historic home for others to enjoy."

  • Wonderful relaxing week!

"What an absolutely perfect week! It was our first time in St. Michaels and we will definitely be back. The house is absolutely stunning...beautifully decorated and equipped with every amenity and necessity. It was sparkling clean as well. Comfortable beds, close to town, lovely lawns and we just lived in the pool, on the screen porch and in the kayaks. I will definitely rent again and highly recommend!!"

  • Everything you need for a getaway

"This is our second visit to Sandy Pines and it did not disappoint! The property is a bit outside of St Michaels...probably takes 10-15 min to get to the center of St Michaels from there. You could bike it if you wanted as the roads are wide enough and there is a bike lane. But you will love the property so much that you won't want to leave. The yard is lovely, with so much shade, hammocks, chairs, and a picnic table by the water where there was almost always a breeze. There are plenty of things to keep active people busy here: badminton, two kayaks, sunfish, paddleboard. The pool is beautiful and was well cared for. Pool cleaners come every week (nice guys!). We spent much time by the pool as it was particularly hot when we were there. There is a lovely screened in porch by the pool with ample comfortable seating. Inside the house has everything you could need. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need should you choose to cook. The owners are generous in leaving behind some staple ingredients as well as what you may need for laundry and paper products. The home is clean and the furnishings are comfortable and in good condition. We love the flexibility of the bedrooms/bathrooms layout. It's easy to spread out here and if you are sharing with another family or with teenagers and friends, you won't be in each others way. The owners and their local caretakers are responsive to any issues that may arise. The info that they provide is very detailed and clear and you should have all your questions answered from reading the property details on VRBO, but if you have other questions, they respond quickly to emails. Summer visits require you to pack your own linens, which can take up a lot of space, but it's not really a big deal. They have plenty of pillows and blankets."
