  • Lovely autumn escape

"We were looking for the right place to stay during the Ironman Triathlon and this was it. Our nephew was doing his first Ironman and was able to do training here and relax in preparation for the big day. It is minutes from St. Michaels and an easy 30 minute drive to Cambridge for the triathlon. The property is spacious and affords lots of privacy. Our stay was too short to take full advantage of the facilities... bikes, canoes, etc. But we had time to lounge by the pool (a little cold for swimming on this day) while appreciating the sunset and watching the geese in Barretts Cove. The house was comfortable and large so everyone had his own space. The kitchen had everything we needed except maybe a blender. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well lighted. Even though the nights were unseasonably cold, the house was warm and comfortable. The owners were helpful and friendly. It was clear that they care deeply about the property and hope to make each visit memorable for their guests. This is the perfect place for small family reunions and weekend social events for friends."

  • Everyone enjoyed relaxing poolside and on the dock!

"The house was very clean upon our arrival. Plenty of room for 10! Plenty of room outdoors for games. It is a short bike ride to the playground & basketball court. I loved the screened in porch! We didn't use the paddleboards because everyone was a little nervous of the jellyfish:( We only had one small issue with a kayak paddle that Barry & Lisa (caretakers) took care of within a half hour. The generous supply of paper towels, napkins, tissues, toilet paper, trash bags & dish soap was greatly appreciated. Overall we had a wonderful stay and we would DEFINITELY recommend this house!!!!!!!! However I gave this house only 4 stars because the kitchen needs a little TLC. The cookware needs to be thrown away. Fortunately I read a previous review and decided to bring my own. There is a lot of cabinet space but they are filled with many unneccesary items. There is a large pantry but it is filled with puzzles and games. These items for be better kept in the sitting room. It would be nice if the pantry was empty for guest items. Also the closet in the hall with the paint and other hardware items should be locked. Our 2 year old Granddaughter did find her way into it. This is a definite safety issue! Brad & Lisa you have the perfect house, property and location. We are envious!"

  • Awesome historical cottage stay!

"We had a great visit to the Thomas Blade cottage. The home is maintained in authentic historical condition. The owner has remodeled the home to include a modern kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms upstairs. The home is comfortable with A/C and a nice, screened porch. The porch is very relaxing and has a fan for warm days - a great place to hang out. We were able to walk everywhere or ride our bikes. The home actually came with two bikes, but we used our own. We had a nice, relaxing and enjoyable visit. One day was the brewfest and while it was nearby, it wasn't noisy or disruptive. Thanks to the owners for maintaining such a nice, comfortable historic home for others to enjoy."

  • Best Vacation Ever!

""My family and I can't say ENOUGH good things about this house. It truly is a slice of Heaven. Not only did it accommodate all of our needs with its spacious and extremely clean rooms, it exceeded all of our expectations. Michelle's attention to detail is evident throughout the property; beautifully-kept and welcoming interior, comfortable beds and furniture, well-equipped kitchen, seemingly brand new beach cruiser bikes, kayaks, paddle board, game room, pool, and dock on a quiet cove. Perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. We had the best time catching, cooking and eating crabs. The views can't be beat! With a beautiful paddock in the front of the house and the water in the back, you'll be torn over which way to look. Thank you Michelle! We hope to return ASAP!""
