  • And so, it begins

"Our family vacation has relocated. To Tilghman Island. On Harris Creek. At Choptank Cottage. I can only echo what others have said. The views are spectacular. There is a dock where we could tie up our 28' Chris Craft, fish, crab and watch the sea life. This home has everything you might need including cooking utensils, crab pots, a picnic table, firepit and so on. Even the next door neighbor and her big love of a dog are very special. The owners are very helpful and the house very welll kempt. The location is wonderful, right on the creek. Marker 5, the Red Store, Knapps Narrows, The Lady Patty, Harrison's and on and on. The one problem is leaving. Looking forward to the next time. Wow."

  • Escape the Rat Race!!!!!!

"If you really want to get away from traffic, noise and neighbors….if you have ever dreamed of living in a restored historic house on the water surrounded by acres of land……this is it! You don’t visit Fox Trappe Farmhouse….you experience it! The house itself is furnished in antiques, original artwork and heirlooms belonging to the owners…Leslie, Thom and Molly. There are many sitting areas inside…kitchen, dining/living room, family room and library….plus 2 screened porches and two outdoor seating areas…all with water views. Everyone can find a place to chill and read or just watch the water and wildlife. The quiet at Fox Trappe Farm was a much appreciated shock to our suburban senses. The pool is huge. We estimated a minimum 40x20 feet. It is crystal clear without the chemical smell as it is a meticulously maintained salt water pool. There is furniture, 2 umbrellas, lots of pool toys and a great outdoor shower. Bikes were very fun. Beautiful hydrangeas and other flowers abound. The charcoal grill looks brand new, but we brought a small gas grill and used it as hubby prefers gas. The fire pit was great. The house is on a creek leading to the Choptank River….the creek is very wide, and the river is close. We enjoyed visits from a large heron, an eagle and a raccoon hunting in the river….and the rabbits that were out every morning in the yard. Take time to read the books about the history of Trappe that are on end tables around the house. You will see some of the landmarks mentioned if you drive through town…drive slow... and always wave to folks when going down Main Street. They wave back! Visit the Unicorn Book Store and meet the owner! Phone, TV and Internet service are great. The owners are very responsive during the reservation process and are readily accessible if you need assistance during your stay. Leslie recommended fresh caught local fish at Kool Ice in Cambridge and Highland Creamery in Oxford for our daughter’s birthday. Both were awesome! We visited Assateague Island which is an easy drive….left the house at 7:30 and no traffic problems. Since two family members had never seen Ocean City we drove through………NO WAY is that a vacation…….but you could do a day trip if you want to…..but why would you want to? We were so glad to return to Fox Trappe Farmhouse. Thank you to Leslie, Thom and Molly for sharing your lifestyle with us. We hope to return."

  • Relaxing Vacation

"Beautiful house and location. It had everything you needed. We got some crabs to steam and they were the biggest we've seen in a long time. We ate them out on the screened-in porch, which was our favorite place to be the entire time. Went to St. Michaels shopping - that was a treat and ate dinner one night in St. Michaels. It was a great vacation and will be back next year."

  • A beautiful property providing a very special place to unwind

"This was an amazing place to spend time with family (including young grandchildren) and friends. There was plenty of room for everyone and enough space for people to spread out. The website was a bit unclear about the extra sofa space but it all worked out very well. We were there for a wedding but would love to return some time to just relax and enjoy the porch, the view of the cove, the pool, the hottub. The house is very clean and the furniture all lovely and in very good condition. The beds were all very comfortable except the trundle bed upstairs (a bit squeaky and thin) . The kitchen (S!) were fantastic with lots of space to dine with our large group. Very nice set up for 2 families affording some privacy. My grandson says he loves Grandma's house in Maryland and can't wait to go back. (if only!!!). We spent hours at the drawbridge and took an amazing sail on the bay on a lovely historic sailboat. The owners clearly care about this property and the attention to detail was impressive. If I ever have a reason to return to the area I would surely want to stay on this property."
