  • Amazing! You can't go wrong with this home.

"Even in the midst of winter (when we were there), a slight crack of a window and a fresh breeze wafts in, the sound of the waves the only sound you need in the house. Of course, you will want to wake up before the rest of the house, to take this all in. Staying here is like staying in an old port town: tight, steep roads behind you where picturesque houses overlook the bay. On the bay, seagulls and geese fly over, sunlight sparkles. It's one of the beautiful places on earth. Seashells from the Miocene era are strewn about the shores, entertaining for hours. Large ships can be tracked online and viewed over the course of each day. And, then, there's the house: truly, every amenity you have need is there, even some you might feel the need to purchase, after leaving (i.e. the 9x9 brownie pan with the removable bottom absolutely rocks!). And, even if you are the cook for your stay here, the windows are right there, bringing the sparkle and flash of the sunlight on the water right into the house. The birdfeeders, provided by your excellent hosts, bring in cedar waxwings, chickadees and cardinals to watch. The beds are comfortable, the shower overlooking the beach delightful. We were there over the holidays and, truly, when you hail from Minnesota, sitting on the beach at a campfire on January 1st is amazing! Surrounding this delightful home (which you truly won't want to leave) are sculpture gardens, marine museums, War of 1812 historic sites and, of course, Washinton D.C. and Mount Vernon are short drives away. Even the small diners know what to do with seafood, so be sure to eat lots! Alicia's recommendations will not steer you wrong, so come, enjoy and stay as long as you can!"

  • This Is The Place to Relax Comfortably

"We had a group of women here to celebrate a birthday. We wanted to hang out, relax, eat, drink, and sleep and were pleased with our choice to stay at Sandy Pines. The view is gorgeous and we were blessed with a warm fall weekend where we were able to sit by the water and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine for the evening sunset. The hammocks were great for an afternoon nap. The screened porch seats plenty and we enjoyed sitting there with a blanket in the evening. It is a nice, shaded, private lot. I am sure the pool is wonderful in the summer and the mature trees provide lots of shade. We did not use the bikes but they looked like they would be good enough to check out the neighborhood streets, but probably not any distance riding. I believe there were 2 adult bikes and at least 2 children's bikes. If you want to ride into town, I would bring your own bikes. We used the owners kayaks/canoe along with our own blow up kayaks and had a nice tour on the water. We also went for nice walks and the wide shoulders provided us a safe place to walk on the local roads. An afternoon of checking out the shops in St Michael's was also fun. The kitchen is laid out somewhat awkwardly, but worked fine and is stocked with just about everything you need. Plenty of pots/pans, dishes, utensils, dish towels, glassware & wine glasses, and serving plates & bowls. Only thing clearly lacking are containers for stowing leftovers. Overall, if you are putting together a meal for a large group, you will be happy with the kitchen supplies. The beds are comfortable, with all of the bedrooms roomy with space to stow your gear. Two of the bathrooms have been renovated and were a nice surprise. Being a fan of an outdoor shower, that would be a nice addition for summer stays. Cell service is in and out, as mentioned by others, but the wifi worked fine. We found the dryer seemed to take long to dry a load, but we advised the owner the vent may be clogged, so hopefully that would solve the problem. The owner was a pleasure to deal with from initial questions to booking and always responded promptly. I would definitely recommend this place to others and our group was already inventing excuses to come back another year."

  • A beautiful property providing a very special place to unwind

"This was an amazing place to spend time with family (including young grandchildren) and friends. There was plenty of room for everyone and enough space for people to spread out. The website was a bit unclear about the extra sofa space but it all worked out very well. We were there for a wedding but would love to return some time to just relax and enjoy the porch, the view of the cove, the pool, the hottub. The house is very clean and the furniture all lovely and in very good condition. The beds were all very comfortable except the trundle bed upstairs (a bit squeaky and thin) . The kitchen (S!) were fantastic with lots of space to dine with our large group. Very nice set up for 2 families affording some privacy. My grandson says he loves Grandma's house in Maryland and can't wait to go back. (if only!!!). We spent hours at the drawbridge and took an amazing sail on the bay on a lovely historic sailboat. The owners clearly care about this property and the attention to detail was impressive. If I ever have a reason to return to the area I would surely want to stay on this property."

  • Perfect!

"We chose to come to Maryland from Ohio on a whim for an elopement. We wanted a quiet and beautiful place on the bay and we lucked out finding this gem! We stayed in the Jelly Fish House, it is brand new and gorgeous, just what you would imagine for a beach house. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the dock and in the hammock looking at the beautiful views and sunsets. My three boys had a ball fishing, jumping in the water from the dock and catching blue crabs-we had never seen those before!! We definitely had three teary-eyed boys when it was time to leave. We had a magical weekend! We wouldn't have changed a thing and would love to come back. Jacque and Patrick were fantastic!"
