  • Lovely Cottage. Had a Great Time.

"My family and I had a delightful long weekend at this cottage in August 2016. Tall Timbers, the community where the cottage is located, is a charming 1920s-era collection of vintage vacation houses on the north bank of the Potomac. We found the cottage, the community and the neighbors to be wonderful. The house is as shown in the listing photos, and is right on the water. The property was clean, and all amenities and utilities functioned fine. Communication with the owners was excellent. My kids loved messing about in the water on the large inflatable raft provided. We adults were happy with the short drive to St. Mary's City (15 mins.) and Point Lookout, which has a great dog beach (30 mins.). There are two restaurants very close by (less than 5 mins. by car), and another about 10 mins. away. We fully intend to come back and are happy to recommend this cottage to anyone."

  • BEAUTIFUL house on quiet and peaceful spot on the bay!

"This was our second time staying at Kentigern and it was beautiful. The weather was very gray but it was still a gorgeous view out the many many windows of the house. The house itself is comfortable and warm and has a great fireplace and plenty of room for many guests. My only quibble would be that the doors to the bedrooms are not solid wood (they're slatted) so it can be loud if one is trying to sleep. But other than that, perfect stay!"

  • Serene, clean, and cozy

"This house was very quaint and all the beds very comfortable. The view was absolutely gorgeous watching the sunrise and sunset and had lots of fun things to do. The house is a little difficult to get to if your GPS takes you left around the circle instead of right but it's easily solved. A great getaway location!"

  • Sibling Reunion

"We returned home yesterday, all of us exhausted. Lets just say that while inside - no one was ready to leave, but doing outside activities - the heat was too much for some. Our group ranged from mid 50's to late 60's and I think we chose the hottest time of the year. The water views from both inside and out were fantastic but the jelly fish prevented us from attempting to float or swim. We all enjoyed the trip to Tangier Island and marveled at their way of life which we enjoyed from our bikes (we arrived early and our bikes were quickly boarded) and golf carts rented on the island. Suggestion, Sunday is not the best day to visit the island as a lot of shops and restaurants were closed). We visited KC Crab and Cue - where the guys had a great time playing pool and the girls got away to do some local shopping and visit the Dog and Oyster Winery where we had a fantastic personal tasting. We walked Hughllet Point Preserve until it got tooooo hot and it looked like the tide was coming in. We had a fantastic meal at Merrior's Restaurant, outoors!! (beautiful waterfront setting) We saw Reedsville from the car and were given more information while on the ferry boat to Tangier. Loved how the Caption on the boat had a sense of humor and played the music from the Titantic Theme song "My Heart Will Go On" at "appropriate" times on this trip :) Lunch at the Crazy Crab, right on the water in Reedsville served a really good meal. Your place was beautiful, comfortable and we all enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again for sharing your vacation home!!"
