  • Quiet and comfortable cottage

"We enjoyed a pleasant stay at this lovely cottage. It has all the basic amenities needed. The beds were quite comfortable and it is quite roomy for a small house. Williamstown is a charming town ,perfect for relaxation. The house is an easy walk to town and the college. There is a lot to do in the area from nature hikes to cultural pursuits . I look forward to visiting the area soon."

  • Getaway to the Woods

"We have been going to this house for seven years now, and I am already looking forward to next year! The title of my post "Getaway in the Woods" is quite literal as you will find when arriving to the road, you will have to drive into a hole in the woods and up to this house. It's quiet, private and in my mind perfect. You can relax inside by the Wood Stove, outside on the deck grilling, or by the fire pit with a cold one(which is the way I like to end my days there!). It's also perfect for setting out to other places in Vermont; just 20 minutes North is Wilmington. There you can pick up what you may need or drop into the small businesses. You are also pretty much in between Bennington and Brattleboro to the west and east, go further North and you find Mt Snow. In closing, if you want to relax and to feel like your miles away from civilization, but also want the convenience of seeing what the Towns and landmarks that Vermont has to offer, then I see no other place better than this one. It's a Home in the woods and a launching point for the rest of Vermont. I can't say enough for this place, it will be worth your pennies and time!"

  • Our Country Home

"We really appreciate historic homes and this house is like a trip back in time. It was so grounding and comfortable. I loved waking up to daffodils blooming along the river with mountains in the distance. It is very much a country home, yet only a 5 minute drive to a quaint little town called Shelburne Falls with a convenient food coop, the bridge of flowers and other restaurants and community gathering places. There is also a very healthy cafe down the road in Charlemont. With just a short drive, we were able to hike to many spots along the river and into the hills. It was also nice to take walks on the family land after dinner or as needed. We also found a nice hangout and meditation spot by the river. Alexander, the host, is an angel. He was very friendly, responsive and helpful throughout our week stay. I feel like we are now friends. Since we have long time friends and family in this area, this will be our "go to" rental..."our country home". Thank you Alexander and family for providing a much needed place for us to ground and connect."
