  • this is our second stay

"Last year when we visited, we said we would return and we did. This time we brought extended family with us, which made the house more lively and more efficient. We took advantage of its size and generous resources. It is intended for large groups. We had our white Christmas season, a big snow storm, the trails covered with a deep blanket, beautiful, instant plowing by the town and help with the driveway. We cooked, the kitchen is so well appointed, we made fires, plenty of wood to burn. Next, we have to come in a warmer season to make use of the terrace with its view of the hill and woods. We did not get to see Tim and Maureen but we communicated with them easily, they were available for any question. We enjoy Western Massachusetts, this house's location is perfect for visiting the main places of interest, we were in Lenox, Northampton, Pittsfield, Greenfield, Brattleboro, Amherst, we could easily have gone to Mass MoCa and the trails abound in the area. What a treat. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful house."

  • Lovely House; Dramatic Landscape

"We spent two very comfortable nights upstairs, while other family members stayed downstairs. The house is a lovely combination of modern design and "antique" furnishings, including a baby grand piano, and a dramatic mountainside location. The charming village of Housatonic is less than five minutes away, and it's 10 minutes to bustling Great Barrington."

  • Well maintained home on the waterfront

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Robin Hood Lake in Becket. The house was just perfect for our needs. We had our 2 granddaughters with us, and they were able to kayak and fish to their hearts content. Waterfront was just what we were looking for. The lake was quiet with very little boat traffic. The house was well maintained, and you knew right away that it was used and maintained by the owners, and not a lake home used for rentals. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the deck a delight. Were it not for the mosquitoes at dusk, I believe that we would have stayed out there forever! The weather was perfect our entire stay, and the temperatures at least 15 degrees cooler than “home”. That made our stay even more delightful. There is a small store/restaurant close by, convenient enough for the daily paper and a loaf of bread. We were familiar with the area, so were able to cross over into Otis for an ice cream cone at night. There was an entire bucket full of “to do” material that was available. It was very thoughtful of the owner to provide us with the list of information relating to our stay in advance. So much better than reading it in a book after we arrived. Thank you Amy for the use of your home, and we look forward to returning in 2017!"
