  • Cozy house perfect for a retreat

"This is a very comfortable and roomy old New England house that will make you feel at home. It's great for children, as there is room to roam outside and a wonderful screened-in porch. The house is well situated near the Taconic and a short drive from downtown Great Barrington, with its many shops and restaurants. It's also a short drive to beautiful Lake Mansfield and to many hiking trails. We enjoyed eating the breakfast the owner provides in the charming dining room. The owner is very responsive and helpful."

  • Incredible value for house with character

"This house has a lot of character--from architectural details and high ceilings to a well-chosen selection of books, music, and games and even a baby grand piano. The internet is fast and reliable and TV includes a network-connected Blu-ray player so you can connect to your own Netflix account. The location is near stores but feels like it's away from everything."

  • Beautiful large home with an incredible view situated within walking distance to a lovely lake

"The pictures really don't do the place justice! We came up here as a large group to attend a friend's wedding and this home helped make the experience the best weekend of our summer. Comfortable and ideally located close to the town center, this recently remodeled house is spacious and has all the modern amenities you would need for a group get-a-away and then some. There are several comfortable bedrooms spread across three floors with lots of places to hang out, both indoors and out. The hilltop location also give this place a great view of the near by mountains, which we enjoyed while eating breakfast and dinner on both the second floor deck and ground level patio (complete with grill!). It is also a short walk to a lake and small nature trail. The hosts were friendly and took the time to give us a full tour of the house and acquaint us with the area to make a visit seamless. Wonderful place and highly recommended!"

  • Had a great family vacation here

"Our multi-generational family of 9 stayed here for a week. Our 3 kids are ages 1-7. Had a great time. The house was a perfect size for us. Thought we might have someone sleeping in the den, but there was enough room in the bedrooms for us. Having this many recently renovated baths and a high end kitchen with a couple of sinks was great. Everything was clean and in good working condition. The park with a playground, swings, and basketball courts across the street was a huge plus. Backyard and driveway were big enough for kids to have fun there too. Christina was very helpful and flexible. She and the owner are definitely part of the neighborhood and community, so did really have feel of staying in someone's home. Neighborhood is small, but had some worthwhile restaurants, and we were in other towns a fair bit. I'm guessing that we went at the least picturesque time of year, trees still bare, but we had great weather and it was nice to drive and walk along the rivers, farms, and small towns. Museums and other touristy sites were open, but not crowded which made taking the kids much easier. We definitely enjoyed our stay in this home and coming back from our day trips to a normal neighborhood as a way to get to know the area."
