  • Great Vacation Home For Us Every Year

"We have enjoyed vacationing in this lovely home every year for the past 6 years. We had an especially wonderful time this year. The weather was perfect on a daily basis and we got to do a lot of great things - visiting the Rockwell Museum and Shaker Village as well as picnicking on Mt. Greylock. Onota Lake was beautiful as ever and we had great fun swimming and picnicking there as well. It was a great surprise and highlight of our trip to see a mother bear and her 3 cubs. We are already looking forward to our return next year!"

  • Charming, private, and secluded getaway

"This home is charming and secluded, yet convenient to all of the Berkshire attractions—Hancock Shaker Village, Tanglewood, Jiminy Peak, etc. The home is well-kept and the perfect location for star-gazing late at night. Other reviewers have mentioned the post and beam construction means sound carries throughout the house, so that's something to be aware of. The owner is attentive and helpful and (even though she was away on her own vacation) managed to get us a replacement coffee maker within 24 hours when the one in the house stopped working. Thanks for a lovely week!"

  • Cozy, Charming and Lovely Grounds

"Bruce was an absolute pleasure to work with. I reached out to him a week prior to an impromptu weekend gateway, and he responded immediately. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how tasteful decorated and well-organized the place is. The owners' attention to detail is apparent throughout the house, from neatly-labeled soap dispensers to perfectly stacked books. Our young children loved the toys and books, and the expansive yard with a swing set, hammock, and meticulously maintained flower beds. The owners live right beside this cottage, so we had the chance to bump into them here and there which made our mini-vacation extra intimate. While the younger children napped in the house, I sat in the backyard and watched my older one on the swingset. With the mountains in the background and hearing nothing but the breeze blowing through the leaves, I wondered how one could ever get tired of this view. The only down side is that the house appears to have been converted from a farm house, so noise and light insulation is definitely lacking. One can easily hear conversations in the bedrooms upstairs and vice-versa. But Bruce's hospitality has more than made up for it. Thank you for making our family weekend in the Berkshires simply sublime!"

  • Wonderful stay, wonderful converted school house

"Just returned from a 4 night stay at this historic school house. What was most impressive was the amount of space in the kitchen/great room area. We were able to spread out our gear without feeling in any way cluttered. The loft was small but comfortable, and even in the midst of Summer the window and floor fan worked like a charm, keeping the whole house cool. While the arial view of the property makes it seem like the house is near to a busy road, it is, but we couldn't hear anything at night (and we are sticklers for wanting no traffic noise when we are away). A great stay and we will be back!"
