  • Wonderful stay, wonderful converted school house

"Just returned from a 4 night stay at this historic school house. What was most impressive was the amount of space in the kitchen/great room area. We were able to spread out our gear without feeling in any way cluttered. The loft was small but comfortable, and even in the midst of Summer the window and floor fan worked like a charm, keeping the whole house cool. While the arial view of the property makes it seem like the house is near to a busy road, it is, but we couldn't hear anything at night (and we are sticklers for wanting no traffic noise when we are away). A great stay and we will be back!"

  • A wonderful Berkshire getaway

"DON'T RENT THIS PLACE...so that we can have it all to ourselves! Obviously, this is said in jest. We just loved the apartment. It offered a great view of Rising Pond through the picture window. Check out the great sunsets from the deck, read a book, have coffee there in the morning. Both bedrooms were spacious, the kitchen well stocked, the bathroom bright with many towels and the place was spotless. You are located in wonderful Housatonic, a quiet, quaint, yet central location. Have breakfast and maybe dinner at low cost, incredibly good Main and Pleasant. Drive 15 minutes to Beartown State Park/Benedict Pond, a great place to hike or swim. Make sure to stop at Holts Farm for fantastic sandwiches. You are 15 minute from Tanglewood and Lenox on low trafficked Rte 183, and minutes from the Rockwell Museum."

  • Summer Magic

"Going on vacation with 3 kids under the age of 6 can be tough- but this house made it possible to relax and have a great time. We'd swim while the babies took naps, play lawn games in the yard and then BBQ and make s'mores at night. They had a ton of movies for kids on hand as well as a good number of books, toys and game equipment in the basement. Here were our favorite activities if you have young ones: 1.) Head around the corner to Cantina 229 and have tacos outside and let the kids see the farm animals. 2.) Great Barrington: Have dinner (and play ping pong) at the Prairie Whale and then go to Soco Creamery for dessert. On Friday afternoons, you can take the kids to the Mount for free jazz (and running around) or just go to the Giggle Park playground in GB and let them dance around to the free jazz in the park there. 3.) Jacob's Pillow- the kids really liked the free inside/out performance 4.) The Hancock Shaker Village had a ton of activities for kids and is just a pretty setting to run around 5.) The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield had lots of interactive exhibits- including dinosaur costumes. If you need a rental with a little bit of separation (for two families, in-laws or sleeping babies)- this place is perfect!"
