  • Getaway with friends

"First of all, I would like to thank Sarah for sharing her lovely home. We were 2 couples from Brooklyn looking to enjoy the Berkshire area. The home exceeded all expectations. The details inside the home tells you how much the owner really cares about her property. The antiques throughout the house was a decorator's dream. The location was ideal for traveling back from Williamstown. The home is set back off a main road so traffic noise was nonexistent. The main bedroom has a breathtaking window which looks out into the forest. I feel guilty giving such a great review since I would love to keep this house a secret."

  • A Perfect Embodiment of Pure Berkshires Beauty

"I must confess that I found this listing after another lease agreement happened to fall through at the last minute. Well, that's the best thing that could have happened to me, a blessing in disguise. Loving all the Western Mass summer attractions, I never stayed on the New York side of the Berkshires before. If that is your concern, don't fret. Tanglewood is less than 25 minutes away, and many other great spots are also close: the Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Theatre, museums, great restaurants, and lots of hiking and nature. I've been staying in the Berkshires for years, and this property has the most beautiful view I have ever seen. It's so open, bucolic, serene -- and the backyard is well maintained, so sitting in the back, and playing in the grass, is a joy not overwhelmed by bugs and wild growth all over (all of that is kept at a safe, but beautifully close, distance). The house itself is spacious enough to be comfortable for several people, and it's VERY clean. This is important when you're staying so close to the woods and mountains. I didn't see anything more than a couple ants while I was there. It's not an overstatement to say that my summer stay in the Berkshires this year was magical and unforgettable; and Rick's family's place allowed that to happen. You can tell that he and his family love this house and take good care of it. That's always a good sign. If you want beauty and comfort and all things Berkshires, then this is a wonderful place to stay. You absolutely will not be disappointed. And, it most certainly helps that in all his dealings, Rick is quickly responsive and easy to reach. I strongly recommend."

  • Beautiful barn, great location close to Mt Greylock

"This is a great, somewhat unusual, but for the most part fun and comfortable place. You really can't beat the atmosphere of this old renovated barn, and the babbling brook in the back as well as the campfire site gives it a rustic nature feel although it is otherwise not as secluded of a setting as I thought based on pictures and description (It's very close to other houses and cars visiting the owners property are essentially parked right in front of the main window, anyone who sleeps in that room will get woken up by their headlights) The location at the foot of Mt Greylock is great for hiking, and MassMoca, Tanglewood, and other fun outings are all within close proximity. Beds were comfortable and with one bedroom door that closed and the remainder of the beds in alcoves I did not think privacy was a major issue (my husband and I had various friends come stay with us while we were there), but it is important to realize that the only bathroom gets accessed through the only bedroom. I honestly can't imagine anyone wanting to sleep in either one of the 2 cabins in the state we found them in but perhaps if you are in more of a camping mindset the musky smells and dirt/dist is not an issue. The only major hiccup we encountered was a water heater that repeatedly went out, the caretaker came and showed us how to reset it but was not available for a more structural solution so we had to do that several times."

  • Girls weekend

"This is our second year renting this awesome home. Plenty of room for 7 girls. This home is amazing. Lots of beds and plenty of room for meals together and fellowship. Love the large living room for playing games and watching friends DVDs. Owner is friendly and super responsive to any need that may arise. Thanks for a wonderful weekend."
