  • Wonderful stay, wonderful converted school house

"Just returned from a 4 night stay at this historic school house. What was most impressive was the amount of space in the kitchen/great room area. We were able to spread out our gear without feeling in any way cluttered. The loft was small but comfortable, and even in the midst of Summer the window and floor fan worked like a charm, keeping the whole house cool. While the arial view of the property makes it seem like the house is near to a busy road, it is, but we couldn't hear anything at night (and we are sticklers for wanting no traffic noise when we are away). A great stay and we will be back!"

  • Great Vacation Home For Us Every Year

"We have enjoyed vacationing in this lovely home every year for the past 6 years. We had an especially wonderful time this year. The weather was perfect on a daily basis and we got to do a lot of great things - visiting the Rockwell Museum and Shaker Village as well as picnicking on Mt. Greylock. Onota Lake was beautiful as ever and we had great fun swimming and picnicking there as well. It was a great surprise and highlight of our trip to see a mother bear and her 3 cubs. We are already looking forward to our return next year!"

  • Great cottage for a few days in the Berkshire

"Our family with our two little dogs spent a few days in this cottage. It is perfectly located, close to the Norman Rockwell museum and Pittsfield. We had a great time in Ramblewild (if one is not afraid of heights...), used the kayaks on the lake (my husband went fishing every day), swam in the warm lake and walked our dogs every day. The cottage was perfect for a small family, we could BBQ and enjoy the beautiful nights on the patio, and it was clean and had all the amenities necessary for a few days, with grocery stores very close. Only one issue, the fan over the stove did not work and set-up the fire alarm. The owner will look into fixing this issue... We could hear the train once in a while, but it did not bother us at all, even at night (I think the train did not come every night, or I do not remember). Just a warning for this time of year: do not forget to bring Bugs-Off!!!! We got bitten by mosquitoes our last night! Overall, a great experience that gives us the desire to go back to the Berkshires."

  • Perfect for a Big Family with Little Kids

"What a beautiful and perfect spot for a week's vacation with the family. We had 10 adults and 5 kids (4 under 5 years old), and the house held us wonderfully. The bedroom setup worked out great with enough beds (+1 pull-out couch) for the grownups (5 couples) and a couple with enough room for pack n plays, a bunk room that 2 4-year-olds shared and could've been used for 4 kids had they been older, and even a cool nook of a room with two built-in twins that was perfect for a 13-year-old girl to escape the rest of our craziness. The common spaces had plenty of seating for both hanging out and eating together, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cookware and dishes we needed. There are 3 separate TVs, so plenty of ways to split up different tastes, although we never had to use them. And I have to mention the very new looking and huge washer and dryer as they were very useful to have. The property itself is amazing. The huge, flat yard between the house and the lake was just perfect for lots of running around and playing games. The small beach was great for the kids and has a nice gentle slope into the water. The kids loved jumping off the small dock, and we made frequent use of the kayaks and canoe for paddling around and even a little fishing. This particular area of the lake was particularly quiet and calm. There's a peninsula on one side offering lots of protection and the entire opposite coastline belongs to a park and a health center, so it's all trees with no development. If you're looking for an easy lake vacation with family and friends, you'd be hard pressed to find something better."
