  • Great place for dogs - and their owners :)

"Great place to enjoy nature, spend long days hiking and walking with dogs. Nice kitchen area to cook and make meals. Cozy and inviting."

  • Terrific place, wonderful hosts

"Our family of 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs just returned from a long weekend stay at this house. We had an amazing time! The house is wonderful, clean, well-equipped. It has a large yard, away from the road so we could all play soccer and frisbee. The house had bikes, which enabled us to take a long bike ride along the rail trail (which was lots of fun). We used the fire pit to roast s'mores and there is a great bbq as well. Kate and her husband were outstanding hosts. The temperature rose very high on one of the days and Kate's husband came to install ACs without us even asking. The house has a great wi-fi and TV with DISH (although we minimized our use of electronics). The house is very conveniently located about 10 mins from Jiminy Peak, Pittsfield and other attractions. Highly recommend!"

  • Peaceful country retreat

"Our group of 7 adults and one 5-year-old traveled to Williamsburg in late September to attend a family wedding in Amherst. Flower Hill Farm, about a half-hour drive from the event, was a peaceful and quiet (no TV, good wifi) alternative to staying in a downtown hotel. We reserved the whole house for three nights, which gave us the use of the dining room as well as access for all to the upstairs balcony. Though we were too early for fall foliage, the grounds were still delightful to explore. The owner, an artist and photographer whose works and collected objects enrich the house, was out of town but provided detailed instructions (including soft shoes in the house and vegetarian cooking only, to preserve the ecological retreat atmosphere) and kept in touch to be sure we were comfortable. Taking advantage of local information left for us, we stocked up on maple syrup at Paul's Sugar House (they ship), ate a tasty breakfast at Bread Euphoria, and enjoyed a walk at a nearby Audubon sanctuary. The beds were comfortable, and the couple who stayed in the studio loved the clawfoot tub."

  • Peaceful and inspiring

"I came to visit with my daughter who lives nearby. I am an artist and my main inspiration comes from the sights and sounds found in nature. I am a city dweller because it is convenient for me as I am nearing my twilight years. I found the cabin in the woods restful and cozy. My daughter and I spent time together talking in the open space and sunlight of the main living area. I also spent time alone, walking the property and sketching the woods and the stream near by. I recommend this property as a get away and a place to contemplate and rejuvenate. Ellen Mills Providence, Rhode Island"
