  • Great place to stay for our first trip to the Berkshires. Loved the village location.

"We stayed 2 weeks in August in this uniquely renovated old house in West Stockbridge for our first trip to the Berkshires. We loved being in this small village with things to do right outside the door and so many attractions a short drive away With just 2 of us, we spent all our time upstairs when we were inside. It was cozy and private with a beautiful view of the river from the deck. The place was very well equipped especially kitchen and bathrooms. Even coffee, cleaning and paper products for our whole stay were provided. Had a little trouble at first adjusting to all the remotes ( for air conditioning , ceiling fans and TV) and the steps throughout the house but quickly became comfortable with the layout. This was a great place to stay for the Berkshire experience."

  • Cozy, Charming and Lovely Grounds

"Bruce was an absolute pleasure to work with. I reached out to him a week prior to an impromptu weekend gateway, and he responded immediately. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how tasteful decorated and well-organized the place is. The owners' attention to detail is apparent throughout the house, from neatly-labeled soap dispensers to perfectly stacked books. Our young children loved the toys and books, and the expansive yard with a swing set, hammock, and meticulously maintained flower beds. The owners live right beside this cottage, so we had the chance to bump into them here and there which made our mini-vacation extra intimate. While the younger children napped in the house, I sat in the backyard and watched my older one on the swingset. With the mountains in the background and hearing nothing but the breeze blowing through the leaves, I wondered how one could ever get tired of this view. The only down side is that the house appears to have been converted from a farm house, so noise and light insulation is definitely lacking. One can easily hear conversations in the bedrooms upstairs and vice-versa. But Bruce's hospitality has more than made up for it. Thank you for making our family weekend in the Berkshires simply sublime!"

  • Wonderful stay, wonderful converted school house

"Just returned from a 4 night stay at this historic school house. What was most impressive was the amount of space in the kitchen/great room area. We were able to spread out our gear without feeling in any way cluttered. The loft was small but comfortable, and even in the midst of Summer the window and floor fan worked like a charm, keeping the whole house cool. While the arial view of the property makes it seem like the house is near to a busy road, it is, but we couldn't hear anything at night (and we are sticklers for wanting no traffic noise when we are away). A great stay and we will be back!"

  • Incredible value for house with character

"This house has a lot of character--from architectural details and high ceilings to a well-chosen selection of books, music, and games and even a baby grand piano. The internet is fast and reliable and TV includes a network-connected Blu-ray player so you can connect to your own Netflix account. The location is near stores but feels like it's away from everything."
