  • The most delightful rental of our years of travel on 4 continents.

"Unlike its touristy, commercialized neighbors, Lenox and Stockbridge, West Stockbridge is a quaint hamlet with real country feel. On the 3 block main street are antique shops, craftsmen's shops, a top shelf wine store, and (right next to the rental) a country store providing newspapers, basic and gourmet groceries, drug store stuff and packaged country dinners they prepare right there. Every Thursday afternoon there is a farmers' market with local farmers and artisans and live folk music. The rental, West Stockbridge Dream, faces on the quiet "main street" and has an upstairs and a downstairs apartment. Both have capacious living areas and bedrooms but only the upstairs has a kitchen, large and appointed with the most upscale appliances. Both apartments have bathrooms and the beautiful shower upstairs is a spa in tasteful stone construction. There is space for two cars to park. The real treasure is the upstairs tree-secluded deck that sits right over the gurgling stream that is the Williams River, On the right you hear and see the waterfall that powered a Shaker Mill. The owner, Lois Ferguson, is a honey who lives in an adjacent home and is available for any contingencies, but is non-intrusive. She provides closets of all the cleaning and paper goods you will need. We recommend The Shaker Mill Tavern in town for basic American food and their smoke house specialties. They have a special play room for children. We have stayed here for two summers and we intend to return every summer for the music, dance, theater offerings in the region."

  • Had a great family vacation here

"Our multi-generational family of 9 stayed here for a week. Our 3 kids are ages 1-7. Had a great time. The house was a perfect size for us. Thought we might have someone sleeping in the den, but there was enough room in the bedrooms for us. Having this many recently renovated baths and a high end kitchen with a couple of sinks was great. Everything was clean and in good working condition. The park with a playground, swings, and basketball courts across the street was a huge plus. Backyard and driveway were big enough for kids to have fun there too. Christina was very helpful and flexible. She and the owner are definitely part of the neighborhood and community, so did really have feel of staying in someone's home. Neighborhood is small, but had some worthwhile restaurants, and we were in other towns a fair bit. I'm guessing that we went at the least picturesque time of year, trees still bare, but we had great weather and it was nice to drive and walk along the rivers, farms, and small towns. Museums and other touristy sites were open, but not crowded which made taking the kids much easier. We definitely enjoyed our stay in this home and coming back from our day trips to a normal neighborhood as a way to get to know the area."

  • Stunning home

"Just finished a week with my husband and teenage sons in this lovely Berkshires home. Gorgeous views from each and every window. Decorated with contemporary aesthetic art work, comfortable furnishings, lovely bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen. Used the outdoor grill and fire pit which were both nicely supplied with all the necessary materials. Easy accessibility to Tanglewood, Stockbridge, Lenox and all our favorite swimming places. One of the nicest summer homes we have ever rented."

  • Home Base in the Berkshires

"The place was welcoming when we arrived for our week long vacation from the city and true to the photos provided online. The area has many things to see and do and there were choices for dining out or shopping to dine / bbq at 'home'. The location made it easy to take day trips in any direction by car or on bike and the dance performances at Jacobs' Pillow were the highlight of our stay. The house is located close to Rt 20 and the sounds of passing traffic but it is also surrounded by trees and a stream. It was very easy to work with the owners and they provided for us a very pleasant vacation experience."
